  1. Mike Vick has to beat that defense first. Plus ATL has to stop that Philly running game.
  2. Hey Ross, if you are interested in any other stuff, I have tons of stuff from Soxfests over the years. I would be more than willing to send it to this family. Great idea BTW. And really you should have introduced yourself.
  3. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jan 17, 2005 -> 08:48 PM) That's probably right. Some guy is going to buy them all up and try to sell them for 1050% the original price. "that guy" of course being a wholey owned subsidary of Tribune Corporation...
  4. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jan 17, 2005 -> 07:07 PM) I'm sure steff is trying to delete all copies of those pictures She is the one who got out her camera and asked me to take her picture in the first place Good times.
  5. Wow, he looked just fine this weekend. for JR and his family
  6. Doesn't bother me... Everyone is ripping off Lance Armstrong anyway.
  7. It was nice to see the comeback in the last few minutes as they got down 8 points with not much time left in the game. This team just doesn't quit.
  8. Sweet. I know you guys were really hoping for this... BEER'S ON STEFF!!!! QUOTE(Steff @ Jan 17, 2005 -> 12:55 PM) Just got the word that Bekins agent Berryman Transfer and Storage Co. out of Joliet has become the official movers of the Chicago White Sox!!! This is something that's been in the works for a few weeks now.. and I'm soooooo happy to have had the tip of my pinky finger in it. It's gonna be awesome to see our logo at the park!!
  9. That's awesome QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jan 17, 2005 -> 12:40 PM) And then the real fun started . Steff comes up and tells us to come down to the bar. Now, if you've never seen me, I can barely pass for 15 (I'm actually 16), and your supposed to be 21 to get into the bar. Me, Brian, and Steve ran right by the security guard "patrolling" the entrance. By the time we were there, Harris couldn't see straight, and Rowand's eyes were glazed over. Jason, our wonderful site administrator, was obviously a little tipsy, and urging me to drink anything I could get ahold of. So, I had a beer (couldn't even take down half of a 24 ouncer) -- as well as many others offering sips of their drinks. I think my mom would have been glad to know what I was doing Saturday night. So, while drinking this beer, there's a security guard right behind me (and like I said, it's totally obvious I'm not even close to 21). Security guard taps me on the shoulder, and I play the dumb game ("I didn't know that you're supposed to be 21"). Steve comes with me, and we get back to the room, and I'm freaking out. Someone knocks on the door and yells "Security", and I'm scared s***less, only to see Steff and Brian laughing at the door. All in all, though, it really was one of the best times of my life. Saturday night was such an awesome time. I cannot wait until next year.
  10. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jan 17, 2005 -> 01:24 PM) $50!!!!!! I paid close to $140 in August, and it kept getting pushed back, so I didn't get it until October. I got mine for $50 also. They were $75 on Friday, but they marked them down on Saturday
  11. Damn they looked horrible in the first. Couldn't shoot, couldn't pass, and could stop Marbury. They need to wake up!
  12. They can't hit a jump shot or a FT to save their lives right now
  13. Bulls down 15-8 about halfway through the first period.
  14. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jan 17, 2005 -> 11:29 AM) Yup, he talked about that nothing gets accomplished talking about it through the media, he also mentioned freddy's retaliation problem was that was a couple months later. As for Carlos I don't recall that exact play ozzie is thinking of and carlos always seemed to be someone that went into 2nd hard, very surprising to me. I did learn something interesting about AJ. He grew up in the same neighborhood as Hawk. Hawk knows his whole family and has been talking to AJ personally for years. He has watched AJ play since he was 15 in HS. As a matter of a fact Hawk tried to get the Sox to draft AJ over Mark Johnson. He also has talked to him about the incident in SF and explained it in detail. I feel much better about AJ after listening to AJ talk, and to knowing his connections to this organization. He really has some incentive to be a model citizen.
  15. QUOTE(diehard chisox 1427 @ Jan 17, 2005 -> 11:33 AM) I think it's funny how Ozzie is basically blaming the season on Carlos when all Carlos did was put up .305/31/99. The Sox would have not been in a situation like that if we had a 5th starter, or if Crede batted .275 or Valentin. Blaming the season on one play in one game by one player is ridiculous. By the way, I was very pissed that the sox did NOT retaliate. Torrie Hunters hit on Burke changed the momentum of the season for the Twins, however if we did hit one of their batters, was momentum coming back to us? Doubt it. Bill He wasn't blaming the whole season on Carlos by any stretch of imagination. He was talking about that particular play and the way the team responded to it.
  16. Ozzie exact words were that the player went into second base "like his wife was playing SS. So we got rid of his butt."
  17. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jan 17, 2005 -> 11:24 AM) Ozzie wanted the players to retaliate, oz has said numerous times and a lot of times this weekend also that if Hunter was on his team he would have hugged the guy, he also said if the players didn't like it they should have done something about it. The big thing he kept saying was they shouldn't just talk about it. If they were mad do something about it. He also said that whatever they would have done, the team would have backed them up.
  18. That's wierd, I never have had that problem...
  19. QUOTE(retro1983hat @ Jan 17, 2005 -> 11:15 AM) I still think the biggest drawback is the upper deck. And not just that you are so high. I go to about 10-15 games a year and I won't sit up there. The view is fine, but I hate they do not let you walk around the first level concourse if you have upper level tickets. There are a lot of things on the lower level that are great, especially for the casual fan and they can't get to it if they have upper deck tickets. Anyways, based on the advanced sales I have seen, I think they will sell the entire lower deck out for almost the whole season (except April). Anyone want to guess what the drop off in attendance will be from Opening Day to Game 2 in the afternoon? I really don't see how the upper deck at Comiskey is any different than anywhere else. I have been to games at 13 different parks, and I don't see it.
  20. They are yours then. To anyone else who is interested. They had boatloads of them, I am almost positive they will be available at the Sox shop at Comiskey or at openning day.
  21. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jan 17, 2005 -> 11:09 AM) But it's all general, nothing specific. The changes to the ballpark were in place for a few years, that's not on his clock. If the team tanks, he will get attendance to increase? Not challenging you, just asking how. -He talked about identifying specific ethnic markets for one thing. -He also talked about working in the Northside and in NW IN as untapped bases. -There is talk of openning a parking lot early in the morning so that people can park there then and not have to pay to park in downtown as well. -They are sending the giveaways to season ticketholders in the mail so that they are guarenteed to get them. -Talked about their advertising schemes breaking new ground -Talked about having 21 preseason games on TV, where as the next highest team in MLB will broadcast 8. They are also going to bring players up to the booth so that we can get to know them personally. -They are going to make an effort to market the players in their commericials -Encouraged fans to contact him and his staff to share ideas. -Trying to make baseball in Bridgeport an experience and not just a 3 hour game. -Changing the between innings stuff on the scoreboard to better utilize the technology they have. That's what I can remember right now from the seminar. I am sure more will come to me.
