  1. The problem is he has no real "major" league experience. Almost all of his time in Japan was in their minor league system. The other guys you are talking about have a ton more ABs professionally, and they also have them more recently. I get it is time to move the kid up a level, but to compare him to a guy who had 1000 ABs in the last two seasons in the top Japanese league when Colas had exactly 0 during that same time frame isn't and apples to apples comparison.
  2. Seeing our trash outfield play I can see how he could feel that way.
  3. Here comes a list of 78 names curated for your Twins/White Sox/random reading pleasure.
  4. That doesn't even make sense.
  5. Cool, then we don't need him anyway.
  6. Hopefully Zach is making those calls now. I mean if the guy wants to come here, the city would burn if ownership said no.
  7. I get this is still a thing, but if the franchise is spending money at large, they aren't cheap.
  8. This one sounds like a historic Sox pick. Who knows what our new draft rooms are like these days though.
  9. When our kids were young we couldn't afford it. We sent our kids to a daycare for their young years that doubled as a preschool.
  10. This is pretty much Sox fans in 2022.
  11. Here's the thing. No one said anything about this. There has been no denial, no acknowledgement. Nothing. If it was a misunderstanding, I would imagine someone would have said so. That's easy to fix. If Colas doesn't say it, you shovel it to one of your preferred scribes to do it for you.
  12. The best way to have people tolerate Tony is obviously to mock them for not being old. What if I told you that age has nothing to do with maturity, and a guy like Tony is a prime example with his multiple arrests and race based accusations, among his history? But apparently you are too old for that conversation.
  13. I will say there has been a balancing act between trying to get more out of his starters and not destroying his pen. That bullpen has been an injury riddled mess for so much of the season that sometimes you HAVE to get more out of your starters, even if you really want to go to the pen. So many sore arms and injuries make it a lot more difficult than "he should have gone to the pen" I get WAY more upset about the situational stuff, and really not having a grasp of baseballs rules, etc.

  15. I am just going say this outloud, but this is why we got AK in here. It's time to sell the hell out of Chicago and do everything possible to recruit KD. I am sure the Bulls won't be the in the game, but for the first time since MJ left, they can be in the game.
  16. There is 100% a difference between the quality of questions that get asked in various media markets. That isn't to say that they all get answered, because that is absurd, but there are markets where sports media is will to ask.
  17. There is no overlap between the Bulls and White Sox. None. I don't know how people think there is, but no.
  18. Wait, so you really think that all media markets are like they are in Chicago and give all softball questions and wait around patiently for access?
  19. Hence lies the problem. This isn't a problem in places like New York, Boston, and Philly, as the media as a whole is will to ask tough questions. And since you can't ice out everyone, it is effective. When the media as a whole is cowards in a market, it doesn't work. In Chicago, they are lapdogs who are afraid to break from the back, making it easy to punish anyone who strays. It is the number 1 reason we never get anything tough asked or answered.
  20. The first question to ask is why would he want to come to Chicago as opposed to everywhere else.
  21. I mean if you really need this, here is a start -I would have loved to hear a question asked about the Tony LaRussa hiring process -The backslide in health the last few years -Wes Helms/Omar Vizquel and that whole thing has never been answered for publicly. -How much influence Tony has on acquisitions -What is the status of Tony's future with this organization after two underperforming seasons in our "window" that Rick used to talk about
