Look if Rocker is willing to share medicals and workout for the team, as well as sign for a slot type bonus, you take him every time if he checks the boxes. He has front line potential if he healthy and recovered. He would also be a quick mover potentially, which you know the Sox would love.

Hopefully this is a good sign. He really started to pick it up the last week in AAA, because if he can get back to his potential, this team is a ton more dangerous.

Like I said earlier, we all know he is overqualified to be here, and it was a signing enticement to give him a bigger bonus without paying him more. But we have seen people in the past who didn't look overqualified when they did the DSL, so he is doing exactly what you hope to see.

Abreu has been one of the very few players the Sox have been able to count on. If you take him out you become even more dependent on players who haven't proven themselves to be anything but injury prone. It might "balance" the roster better, but you would have to figure out how to replace his consistent .280 30/100 on an annual basis.
