I absolutely did. I was one of the few, and was drown out by the Thomas Bandwagon, but I have also noticed that since that timeframe his production has gone down the toilet.

Just got done reading a couple of interesting things about Kid K. Here is one. And the other one is that in the post game show today, Dusty Baker apparently said that Kerry's back has been hurting him now for his last 4 or 5 starts. Hmmm anyone think the fact that Wood is somewhere in the top 3 in pitches per outing is catching up with him? Wood just isn't physcially able to pitch that much. The guy has already had one major surgery and Baker is running him, Prior, and Zambrano into the ground.

Twins are kicking the s*** out of KC 14-5 in the bottom of the ninth, and it looks like First Place Cubs will be about as long lived as First Place White Sox, with Houston all ready having beating Cincy 4-2, and the Cubs trailing the Dodgers 10-5 with two outs in the bottom of the 8th at Wrigley. Elvis Hernandez got beaten for 9 ER in 3 1/3 IP by the Twins, while Kerry Wood was wild as hell today giving up 5 ER and 4 BB in just 2 2/3 IP.

Just to add into the Honel discussion, it is common for HS pitchers to lose some velocity when the get deeper into the minor league season. The key is that they get stronger and get the velocity back.

Jerry is weak in two big areas. The bullpen and getting team up for bad teams. He has his strengths, but these are the two things that just jump out at me.

Anyone who thinks Ken Harrelson is the worst announcer in baseball, hasn't listen to much MLB. There are some TERRIBLE announcers out there, just as bad if not worse than Chip Carrey.

Reed is up over .400 right? And it was real nice to see Honel do well in his first real AA, and to see Jon Rauch step up for his teammates.

With the Twins, KC and Sox each having 14 games left against each other the formula is simple. If a team can win 10 or more of those games, they will win the AL Central. It is that simple.

Out of the 4 most likely teams to see IF we were by some miracle make the playoffs, I think we match up with Oakland the best and Seattle the worst. I still want to see how the Sox play against the Yankees and Red Sox before I say anything about them. But if we were to play Seattle in the first round it would be 3 and out.

Sandy would break down in a heart beat if he played everyday. Like I have been saying all year they need to make it so that Sandy catches 3 a week with Miguel catching 4.
