  1. I am going to say this much out loud. Everyone is going to have advice for you. Literally everyone. Don't feel obligated to follow any of it. You guys know your situation better than anyone, and your rationale for what you are doing and why. It is also 100% expected to have times where you are all of scared, confused and in awe. Every situation is unique, and despite how much they will act like it, no one is an expert on your family. Finally enjoy it. All will tell you how fast it will go, but it will go even faster than that. Take pictures, stay in the moment. Have loads of fun.
  2. And the crazy thing was he was hitting the ball harder than he had in a week.
  3. Every time they fail to win, the pressure to rescue Tony LaRussa is going to grow. This was Jerry's move to save this window, and he is the one who looks bad if it doesn't happen. I think that has weight.
  4. I hate to say it, but especially this year. This year has been a damned disaster. To come out of it with a playoff birth would be good for these players.
  5. I think this is where AK and company make their noise. Draft day is where they really do work.
  6. Sure we'd all love to see 95 wins, but that isn't going to happen in 2022. Forget it. If they make it, it will be around 90 wins.

And neither are gregs rantings from three states away.
  10. It almost has to be a DFA of a pitcher. Going to guess Aybar who has been awful.
  11. In Gios case, I think is nothing to do with anything but Covid.
  12. Was just going to say that exact thing. It seems odd to try to argue that they took him out due to health, but also he is going to play tomorrow.
  13. I am just going to say this out loud. If this team can't stay healthy, I am 100% not interested in seeing them move any of the crowd at the lower levels of the minors to try to plug holes on this ship. I would rather miss the playoffs by a game or two, than to give up the guys we need to go limping into the playoffs. Use the off-season to do the heavy lifting to really rework the roster. Find better balance between left and right handedness. Find better balance between early starters and summer hitters. Find some decent defense. Find some healthier players. Find some smarter players. Bonus points if you can find players that check multiple of these boxes. But quit with the incremental moves. Even if you have to trade a guy we all thought would be a core guy, its time for a reformation. I don't think we need a full pledge sell off, but we do need a realignment.
  14. Unless it is COVID related, you either have to have an open 40 man spot, or open one up by removing someone else from the 40 man roster in one form or another.
  15. I know it would have been nice to get more out of Giolito today, but other than that, this team pretty much gave you whatever they had today. What are we talking about, something like a dozen rotation players unavailable today between injuries for position players, and bullpen arms falling off from over use? We know we have others who shouldn't be playing today either. This group is just trashed right now, and they still managed to put up 5 runs. I am OK with that.
  16. Luis Robert is also now out of the game. No word on health.
