  1. He put up an OPS that was about 150 points less than Josh Harrison. I didn't know that was even possible. The only way I would even consider it is if he was willing to go to Charlotte for a month to see if he could get going.
  2. This is 100% wrong. No team just signs all slot players.
  3. Everyone who signs overslot players punts on picks. That is actually the nuanced approach to drafting.
  4. The discussion was specifically around franchise valuation.
  5. Considering the Brewers are worth less than the Sox and 25th on the overall list, I would say that was a pretty dumb thing to do to your investment.
  6. Never happen. JR already lead a coalition to block Cuban from buying another team. There is zero chance he sells directly to him now.
  7. There is this. If someone was willing to push this franchise like Moreno did the Angels or the Mets in recent times, there is a lot of value to be unlocked. In theory there is a lot of the Chicago market still to be captured.
  8. It's not my fault you never say anything worth a +1
  9. Konnor Pilkington if you believe everyone yesterday.
  10. Because if there is anything Sox fans are, it is forgiving when they make a move to try to improve the team and the players they give up turn into stars.

So is it more likely you stop a school shooting, or that a kid steals your gun and uses it against you? Is it more likely that you stop a school shooting, or you get shot by police who don't know you are a good guy? Is it more likely that you mistakenly shoot the wrong person in a chaotic situation, or that you execute a perfect military precision kill that even the police didn't seem to want to go in and do? Is it more likely you shoot someone because you mistakenly feel threatened, or because you get a bad guy with a gun situation? Look it is easy to play the "what if's", but statistically your scenario is WAY less likely than any of these above. It's like me saying what do I want, to go to work every day for the next 20 years, or have my crappy crypto meme coin to to $10 a token so I am a billionaire. I know what I would rather have, but I also know what the odds of both circumstances are.
  12. So Lynn would be 40 once he is done in a couple of weeks. That means we would need to make a move either now, or later for Lynn if we added anyone to the roster who wasn't already on the 40 man roster.
  13. Which means a roster move would be needed in the next couple of weeks if they did anything other than 40 man roster guys.
  14. The Sox do have 3 guys that they could recall without making a 40 man roster move in terms of position players. #1 is Yermin, which won't happen, so let's call it 2. #2 is Romy who has been hurt and horrible pretty much all year. He literally just got back and played his first game in 2+ weeks yesterday, so I imagine the Sox don't see him as an option either. #3 is Hasley, who actually has been flaming hot at the dish lately AND can actually play some OF. Granted he doesn't help with Moncada, but at least it gives us something who is hot and can defend. Past that you have to start making 40 man roster cuts, and it sounds like they might already have one move coming up with Lynn a couple of starts away from Chicago. Maybe they try to slide Aybar through waivers, as he has been pretty awful. Maybe a Yermin move finally happens? Past that the types of moves that are left is DFA someone like Harrison, so we will see.

You have a scene here full of guys who are carrying and thinking they are "good" guys, and the officers involved have a fraction of a second to correctly identify who is good and bad knowing nothing about the situation. Adding more dead people to a mass shooting situation doesn't seem ideal, but I don't get a lot of gun culture.
  16. Can we do this with every Sox player this year?
  17. Are we really going to lose it over one start? The kid has a 5+ ERA in AAA this year with a 1.6 WHIP, including over 11 H/9, 3 BB/9, and less than 7 K' per 9. Before today his MLB peripherals were extremely similar which gives the feeling he is a ticking time bomb waiting to blow.
  18. It deserved more than a like.
