  1. It's funny how much more value Sox fans give their players and picks once they leave.
  2. It would be great if true, but I will circle back to "Who the F is this guy?" Until something happen. Besides of all of the chicken in Chicago, Jewel is trash compared to the actual chicken joints. Anyone with actual Chicago connections would pick somewhere decent.
  3. You know if you had done similar, none of this discussion happens.
  4. There were zero errors. The attempt to pass it off as an addition to "bad plays", if true, just means you were intentionally trying to mislead people by including some thing that was a complete falsehood. It's either or lie, or you made an assumption and were wrong and don't want to admit it. Which one is it?
  5. None of your factual claims have been true. From your 5 errors, which you tried to reverse on, to the players outputs, they have been false.
  6. No part of this is an "exciting" signing. It is a part of roster building. I get the worry that he will play too much, but you also need guys like this around for when guys like Eloy decide to run through walls, or someone else pulls something.
  7. This isn't defending Leury as much as it is knocking down make believe strawmen, considering you keep posting falsehoods.
  8. Considering he made zero errors, it would be just "bad plays", but nice try. Let's see the list of bad plays now.
  9. It was a horrible sequence of events set into place by our HOF person manager. But it was not an error, nor did he commit 5 errors.
  10. Based on the injury history of our players, I would hope so.
  11. The Sox committed 1 error in the playoffs, and it was by Tim Anderson.
  12. Romy Gonzalez and his 68 OPS+ was going to out do Leury Garcia and his 96 OPS+, and get shoved into a starting playoff role. Even in the playoffs Garcia put up an OPS which was 100 points more than Gonzalez put up in garbage time September ideally chosen ABs.
  13. Because it isn't 1977 anymore, and this is what this level of players costs these days.
  14. You paid so close of attention to this that you are saying a guy who wasn't even on the playoff roster should have started. Solid work here.
  15. There are a lot of really bad starters around MLB too, despite you being confirmation bias blind.
  16. He started the playoffs because the guys who were supposed to start bombed out. This is literally why he is on the roster.
  17. You are not familiar with a lot of rosters then, because there are a lot worse players than Leury Garcia pulling down paychecks in MLB. With 750 roster slots out there, there is a ton of mediocrity and worse getting MLB jobs.
  18. Nick Madrigal hasn't even been able to show that he can play 2B, let alone all around the field.
  19. Here's the thing. If Leury gives us what he gave us last year, he is worth the dollars as an insurance policy who can give us two weeks at a position if injuries happen, and days off if they don't. If Leury gets hurt, or bombs this deal, this the type of deal that doesn't hurt a team, and the team still has Romy around to plug in if Leury fails somehow. If we let Leury walk without replacing him, we are down to only Leury and Danny Mendick in this role, and that just seems like a really large risk to take.
  20. Which means the team is still looking to fill 2nd and RF, and Leury is super sub. That's the perfect role for him.
  21. Well he's a nice guy to have ont he roster to pug holes, hopefully it isn't a big number here.
