  1. Always entertaining to hear the NYY cry poor.
  2. To tack on to this... Pre June 21 3.98 ERA, 4.44 FIP, .263 BAA, .287 BABIP, 62% strike percentage 26BB/49K/9HR in 81.1 IP Post June 21 6.58 ERA, 6.02 FIP, .316 BAA, .327 BABIP, 60% strike percentage, 33BB/46k/16HR/ in 80 IP
  3. I have a bit of curiosity with him. His numbers tanked hard after the sticky stuff investigations started. One thing I am curious about was the talk about either stickier ball or a preapproved tack to be able to used for pitchers, and if that could get him back to where he had been, or if the losses are permanent.
  4. We won't pay you much or take care of you, but how about a historical name back!
  5. This could be really fun. Sounds like a good chunk of BOS and NYY aren't vaccinated. Going to be a really interesting advantage for Toronto to get to play a ton of teams at home with those teams not only on the road, but short handed. They might be a sneaky pick to bet on this year.
  6. We will see if it holds up on appeal, but it would be huge if it does.
  7. And the numbers bore that out, with Sheets still worse. But in LF Vaughn rated really high vs his peers. Sheets was still bad.
  8. I figured this would upset you, but Sheets numbers also agreed with the eye test. He made some awful mistakes, and didn't show any real competitancy out there in a limited sample. Maybe he gets better with some practice, but last year wasn't good.
  9. If you hit up fangraphs defensive ratings and sort is for LF with at least 700 innings, Andrew Vaughn ranks 4th out of 15 qualified players. Expand that out to 300 innings and he is still 15th out of 45. Statistically, Andrew Vaughn was a significantly above average defensive LF. It's probably a little harder to get a good reading on Sheets because of SSS, but he had -32 and -35 UZRs in LF and RF respectively, compared to 0.5 and -20.2 for Vaughn. So far, Sheets looks Fisk in LF bad in the OF, and Vaughn looks above average vs his peers.
  10. It would describe his defense and the Sox OF defense in general, perfectly.
