  1. OK, look, there are reasons to not want Conforto. His 2021 could well be a redflag to start with. But because he doesn't hit great against lefties? I mean have you see the rest of this roster? There is literally everyone else on this roster who can hit against lefties. We would be fine.
  2. Same. This has been needed for a while.
  3. It's really a shame Engel can't stay healthy. As a 19th round pick, he has been an absolute steal even just being a part timer. It would be nice to see if he could actually hit a nice ceiling with some real playing time.

  5. Some of us are at acceptance.
  6. It strikes me as another inkblot test. Those with some optimism see Pujols, Abreu, Soto, Longoria etc. Then there are those who look for the worst.
  7. If they feel there is something there. They make the deal. They don't think like anyone else in MLB.
  8. Well, they were willing to for the same guy at the TDL.
  9. They were just bidding about double that for Freeman.
  10. I will never get people who catch hurt feelings when our players do well.
  11. Let's be honest. Rodgers is just going to turn another receiver into a star.
  12. Vaughn could have easily spent another year or even two destroying crappy MiLB pitching and none would have thought twice. In fact it probably would have served to increase the hype around the kid. I don't think it can be overstated enough how impressive this kid holding his own last year actually was.
  13. The fact that both Castellanos and Conforto are sitting there with minimal chatter makes me wonder if the Sox have a handshake in place with one of them, or are at least far enough that they can quickly close once they move salary.
  14. It does scare me that their window to spend any Kimbrel savings could close very quickly with a couple of key signings.
  15. Bro. Andrew Vaughn isn't going to be a 68 OPS+ hitter against RHP just because he did it last year after a year essentially playing no MiLB ball. No one knows where he is "at the moment ". We know what he did last year. That's it. No one is "dumb" for recognizing that Andrew Vaughn is going to be a really good MLB hitter. The only "dumb" thing would be to overreact to a fluke start to a career and turn one of the best hitting prospects in baseball into a weak side platoon hitter.
  16. And let's face it, if Kimbrel opens his mouth and starts problems, it could well affect the offers out there and increase the chances of his not being able to be dealt. He gains everything he wants by playing the game and being quiet right now.
  17. Going to guess there has been some contact between those two with Howard coming through that Sox sponsored intercity baseball program in Chicago.
  18. I am guessing Kimbrel knows the deal and seems to want out, and he isn't going to burn down the building so that it can get done.
