  1. That's not how it works unless they negotiate a buyout, which isn't what happens if you release someone.
  2. Benny is a great argument that Getz doesn't have nearly as much freedom as we keep getting told, because one of two things would have to be true. Either Getz wants him on the roster, or Getz doesn't have the power to dump him. I know which one makes more sense to me
  3. No, the dark side is realizing this didn't just start.
  4. They SHOULD just buy him out like a respectable MLB franchise.
  5. One of these days everything will quit being someone else's fault. Probably the day they fire Getz.
  6. Nobody is saying anything next because there will be a lockout.
  7. Vaughn was also making about 1/3 of Benny, and even so we took on a similar contract to get it done.
  8. No. Because it isn't happening.
  9. Whose LF is he better than? Therein lies the problem.
  10. Yes, because there aren't any guys in the game hitting for high average with no power.
  11. I think the buried the lede. Wasn't Shultz supposed to be here and going in AFL? I don't recall seeing anyone else mention this.
  12. Which is kind of fitting...
  13. He WAS more valuable then. He isn't today. This isn't that hard.
  14. The Rockies lose 119 games, they go out and hire Paul DePodesta to run their baseball team.
  15. Not realizing that things change in a year isn't the flex you think it is.
  16. I will be honest, the Sox are in a position where they need developmental wins more than the do in season wins. They have a roster to fill for their next playoff team, and they need to start taking the developmental pains of playing the young guys. Heck the Sox season turned around last season when they quit playing the clowns, and started playing the kids.
  17. I mean I get everyone is down on the White Sox right now that doesn't have a vested interest in selling a story here, but the reality is that there are only 30 of each of these jobs. There are very, very few people out there who can say no to one of them knowing that another chance will soon come. For most of these dudes, saying no is probably the last chance they get. Take the job.
  18. Recognizing his limitations isn't "negativity" otherwise you too are being negative here.
  19. Michigan City (7-3) vs LaPorte (4-6) for Sectional 10 championship.
  20. He's got about 1000 ABs of being a decently below average hitter. That IS kind of normal according to his stats.
  21. At that rate, he would need to play around 150 games to round up to 2.
  22. He has played more than 110 games once in his career. Over his last 956 ABs he has put up an OPS+ of 86. That IF is doing some heavy lifting. It is getting to be the time to start asking if playing through injuries has sapped him the way it did guys like Yoan and Eloy, and this is who Luis is now.
