  1. Typically a manager gets say, but it does depend a lot on how experienced and respected that manager is in a lot of cases.
  2. If he REALLY saw a 121 team on the horizon, he should have been selling like crazy. The problem is most of those guys had no value because of injuries or just generally being awful.

Totally understand. Like I said, i did a daily commute to Chicago from Michigan City for most of 15 years. It's where work and the dollars were. I hate to be a buzzkill, but also, wanted to be fair to you. Best of luck man!

Those ultra long commutes will eat at you over time. I get the opportunity, but you are going to miss a lot of time at home, and that gets rough. Being older now, I have passed up chances to work in both Chicago and NYC for a lot more money, just because I don't want to move and/or commute anymore. Quality of life is important.
  5. The Bulls even tried to trade the puck for... Wait for it... A center.
  6. It was a completely different game in the 1980s. As someone who lived through it, basketball revolved around the big center. Michael changed the game 180 degrees, and no one really saw it coming.
  7. Which is funny, because years ago under that structure, Chris Getz was out there telling everyone how much freedom he had.
  8. Martin Perez apparently declined his option. Sure buddy. Ok.
  9. If they got him back to play him again, it is one thing. If this is because they want to try to trade him for the same package of garbage they wouldn't take 3 months ago, this is stupid.
  10. People over-estimating the Twins then. They are going to be awful, on top of maybe still having more selling to do. Their farms system is deeper and better at the top, but that will take a couple of years to get to.
  11. If the Sox were smart, they would look at taking on a chunk of that money in exchange for getting a decent prospect. But they won't.
  12. To follow up on this, the fact that ANY Bears player went closer than 10 yards to the football on the on-side attempt should be a fireable offense. If the ball doesn't go 10 yards, the play is dead. You cannot be in a position to be touched by the football at fewer than 10 yards out, under any circumstances, whatsoever. It cannot happen. Either players need to be released, or the Coach should be fired. Maybe both.
  13. It's still better than being left out.
  14. Most prospects are overrated and overhyped in the long run.
  15. Also gotta give it to Caleb who did what he needed to do down the stretch to recover this game for the Bears. Also nice to see a Loveland sighting.
  16. Literally no defense played in this game. None.
  17. The Bears special teams needs to walk home.
  18. How's it working out? The White Sox just set a major league record for the worst season in the 125 year history of major league baseball, and the 2nd worst ever for 2 and 3 seasons combined. Give me trying and failing over not caring at all.
  19. Yeah, I am not interested in putting a Hall of Fame ceiling on anyone in this system today.
  20. Two billion per team. That’s 4 billion dollars split 30 ways, or about 133 million per owner.
  21. Which is why when the Sox won the World Series, Konerko gave the ball to future Hall of Famer Frank Thomas, and not to Jerry...
  22. House of Guinness was a great watch. Also now really enjoying The Diplomat.
  23. Their business is headquartered in Chicago, and the purchasing brother is building a nine figure house in the burbs. Just because we haven't heard of talk, doesn't mean their hasn't been something happening behind the scenes. That is typically how this is done.
