I am just going to say this outloud. The Sox lack of activity so far tells me that they have a heavy belief that the deals will be better after the CBA gets done and this is why they have the lack of urgency to get it done.

I don't think this was the case. I am reading that as some mixing and matching instead of just dumping one or the other. But apparently playing match ups or moving pieces around to try to maximize success was too much for our HOF person manager.

Now that would be my favorite place for him to sign, as I think he will underperform a large contract more than the rest.
