  1. If it were say Kimbrel and Bryant, I would do it.
  2. If that means no Eloy in the OF, we can restrict Robert to just HRs.
  3. How about this one instead? 42 AB 3 2B 3 HR 10 RBI .500 AVG .548 OBP .816 SLG 1.363 OPS... which was Yermins first 42 ABs.
  4. Until one of them is literally hurt during a celebration, no.
  5. I was pretty outraged by the Trump years too, but we aren't here about that. This is about a private organization being able to set its own policies. Stay on topic.
  6. They barely played him there in Charlotte. If that doesn't tell you something, I am not sure what will.
  7. The Sox are absolutely going to keep Hamilton around as their professional PR and defensive replacement for the playoffs.
  8. With 13 position players C Grandal/Collins (Zavala until Yas) 1B Abreu 2B Mendick/Garcia SS TA 3B Moncada LF Vaughn CF Robert/Hamilton RF Engel DH Eloy I see zero question about the top 12. At that point you need someone else who play D. My guess is with Eloy on the roster, they keep another IF in either Lamb or Burger. You also still have Goodwin as a possibility. This is also without the Sox adding any position players in trades.
  9. The Sox have two really good 1B on the roster, plus a couple of other passable ones. He isn't starting over Abreu. Vaughn is also ahead of him there. You still have guys like Collins and Grandal who can play over there. The Sox have a roster full of DHs. Gavin Sheets has not shown that he can play as passable OF, unless you also consider Daniel Palka a passable OF. A guy like Burger is going to be more of a roster option as he can at least play 3rd. The Sox still have to figure out how to roster Eloy, Robert, and Grandal for sure. Jake Lamb might be coming back as he is on rehab. It's a numbers game.
  10. Sheets has no where to play in Chicago for years with a healthy roster, that's why. He can't play RF. DH is full. 1B is full. His MiLB numbers are no where near what he is doing now. Sure he is off to a great start, but because he can't defend a useful position he has no future here unless Eloy kills himself again.
  11. And one thing we know about major league baseball is that players who get off to hot starts never get exposed after small sample sizes.
  12. Pretty much everyone except Bob Nightingale and Jerry Reinsdorf were wrong about the Sox manager.
  13. As opposed to Eloy colliding with them because he refused to be called off?
  14. Well if nothing else, they made him throw some pitches
  15. I will believe that when I see it. If nothing else, this could be one of those contracts that Jerry negotiates himself.
