  1. This. He was straight away, and made a line straight across before turning into an L shaped route. If he gets the right angle, Luis is there.
  2. For a team with Hall of Famer person as a manager, we have been awful in extras. Too many dumb mistakes defensively, and then not a lot of strategy offensively. That has also seemingly shown up in our 15-21 record in one run games as well.
  3. He definitely misread it. He came over and didn't recognize its carry until it was too late. If he gets a good read, he makes an easy play. Was a line drive that was hit harder than he realized.
  4. Like I said the other day, if everyone else does their job, no one is talking about Kimbrel. Sure you want him to pitch over it, but in the major leagues if you give teams extra outs and bases, you will get beaten.
  5. Oh I have zero problem with fake IL trips for guys to get them ready. Its just odd that as these are seemingly happening, they are worse than we expect and not similar or less.
  6. A thought I just had. It seems like either with the last managerial change, or with the training staff change, we aren't getting the kind of medical updates that we used to get. Like I said I can't be sure which change is the one filtering the information, but it used to seem like guys were typically right on the types of information which were fed to the public. This year it seems like it is always worse than what we are initially told. Maybe it is all bad luck in 2021 after the oddities of 2020, but it just feels different lately.
  7. In 2021, how people still think this is funny is beyond me.
  8. Baseball is all about the big picture. No one remembers if a team won on September 9th or August 24, but they damned well remember who won in October.
  9. This a nice reward for a great season.
  10. This is spot on. The Sox management went and got the best possible available player to fill a hole in the pen where the team had been having major problems with bridge work in the pen. There is a whole lot of revisionist history based on performance, but Sox management is trying to win. The same people who spent years bitching about the Sox being cheap are now upset they weren't.
  11. Unpopular opinion: If Luis Robert doesn't make the 9th a 4 out inning, no one is talking about Kimbrel right now
  12. No idea, but I have all kinds of airline and hotel miles, so I am going to try.
  13. For the record, playoff tickets in Houston go on sale September 20.
  14. I think if Soxtalk were on its meds, this page wouldn't be so manic.
  15. This game is exactly why getting guys healthy is so important right now. You just can't be running Leury, Mendick, Goodwin, in extras when it matters.
  16. That would have been a triple
  17. If we get this Kopech in the playoffs? Just nasty.
  18. Nice to see one actually stay fair this inning.
