  1. Well, and this trade was made for two different reasons. The Sox made it to get the best guy in 2021. The Rangers made it to get six years of Dunning. I don't think either though Dunning was going to be a better player, but that getting six years of Dunning made more sense for where they are today.
  2. I don't think there were any expectations of his playing on a full season team, right? Probably destined for the AZ half season team.
  3. Seems like there would be an unwritten rule to not worry about one's stats over the teams good...
  4. Its the swing that Paul Konerko used when he was slumping. Stay back, go the other way.
  5. Playoff odds FG 87%, win ALC 82.9%, win WS 9% BR 98.4%, win ALC 95.9%, win WS 15.3%
  6. That middle inning pick off really flipped this one.
  7. Honestly his solid defense in left has been an asset all by itself.
  8. Fun police in the house ? Don't swing 3-0 and don't do the wave.
  9. If there is no difference between Riley Pint and Zack Collins in your definitions, then your world view is overly simplistic.
  10. As opposed to a guy like Riley Pint was was drafted #4 in the same draft and never made it past High A?
  11. Again, we have SIX home grown 1st round picks ON OUR ROSTER TODAY. This might have been a thing five years ago, but anymore, we are successfully turning our top picks into useful players. We also have on this roster one of our 6th round, 19th round, another 19th round, 20th round, and 22nd rounders on this active roster. That is completely leaving out guys like Evan Marshall who we got as an MiLB FA, Jose Ruiz who was a waiver claim, Yermin a MiLB Rule 5 pick, etc.
  12. If someone on Soxtalk knew, it would have already been said. If we had the power to force "Sox media" to speak our words, we also would have already done it. At the end of the day you are dealing with the federal government, and an agency within the government which was largely reconfigured to do to immigrants exactly what we are seeing done here in being so difficult and confounding to solve that people just give up and go back home.
  13. I think my favorite Jay story was the time he threatened to quit for the umpteenth time, and finally the Sun Times had enough of him and accepted his resignation.
  14. He is on a major league roster contributing to a playoff team. He might not be where you want him, but it is hard to call someone on a major league roster a draft bust.
