  1. You don't have to win the world series for this to be a successful season. You know what could do long term damage? Blowing up a team that is 4 games in 1st place in a weak assed division.
  2. This needs to be a gif to be able to use for Parkman Posts.
  3. https://www.nytimes.com/2021/06/03/sports/baseball/mlb-injuries-soft-tissue.html https://www.nydailynews.com/sports/baseball/ny-mlb-injury-list-20210529-juhlmf3nuzchtjxf2bt32s3igy-story.html
  4. No it doesn't. Getting to the playoffs again is a huge deal to this franchise.
  5. They would rightfully get buried by their fans and media alike. The time for rebuilding is over.
  6. Steve Stone? Keep his mouth shut? lol, good luck with that one.
  7. He's shut down for six weeks at least. Even if that was it, he would have to condition and rehab after that.
  8. Well he is out 2 months at the very least. He is supposed to be indisposed at least 6 weeks, to start with. I think August is probably off of the menu for sure. Would be shocked to see him again this year.
  9. It really feels like we are seeing the results when these guys didn't have access to top level conditioning for a long period of time. We can look at the Sox, but the number of these injuries around baseball right now is insane. It almost has to be COVID related somehow, most likely due to not having major league training going on during the lockdowns and winter.
  10. The funny part is it is a guy who was suspended. Might need to revisit that status.
  11. It is a pretty unprecedented time period, so I can't even begin to guess where this will go. I know historically we have filled labor shortages with immigration, but it is going to take some work to undue all of the policies which cut back so much on immigration, and get the process flowing again.
  12. Well, considering 600,000 people have died from COVID, plus all of the long haulers who aren't able to work anymore, that is a big starting point. We have also choked off immigration over the last administration, so the normal source of cheap labor during a shortage is also closed off. The crazy thing is that if you look at the labor force, it has shrunk pretty significantly over the last year, so they aren't sitting on unemployment, as the modern myth thinks. They are gone from the workforce.
  13. Nah, they usually do an early afternoon presser once everyone gets to the ballpark. Seems like 3pm is typically about the time this stuff starts coming out.
  14. 4 million people left jobs in May. Labor actually has some power, and they are using it to leave retail, and to move up in the world.
  15. There is zero chance of this being true. There wasn't MiLB last year being the biggest problem, but even then those guys went to the covid camp. This kid would be playing affiliated ball if he could.
  16. I got some of my favorite jersey's from the Garage Sale. The odder, the better.
  17. Well, and this trade was made for two different reasons. The Sox made it to get the best guy in 2021. The Rangers made it to get six years of Dunning. I don't think either though Dunning was going to be a better player, but that getting six years of Dunning made more sense for where they are today.
