  1. He is going to murder us in October.
  2. Damn. That might be the last team I wanted him to go to. He is going to murder us in October.
  3. Though with Robert back and potentially Engel and Hamilton behind you really don't need another OF.
  4. It almost has to be one of Jake Lamb or Brian Goodwin getting DFA'd once both Eloy and Luis get back as they need one forty man roster spot.
  5. Sounds like a lot of the same personality to be honest.
  6. Sheets and Eloy are pretty much sharing the same glove. They are both awful. Sheets lack of range might actually make him worse. As for return, again the Twins are about to lose Cruz for nothing. It won't take much.
  7. But is Cruz's bat or Engel's glove in the OF going to generate a better return for the Sox?
  8. The whole coming in mid-season thing really seemed to be the problem with him. Once he got back to normal, so did his performance.
  9. It isn't about spending resources on a DH. By bringing Cruz in you actually upgrade two positions. You get a better DH AND you get a better RF by sliding Andrew Vaughn over there. You are also not giving up much to get the guy.
  10. I wonder if someone went to Yermin and told him if he didn't STFU there was no way he could be traded anyway.
  11. I do believe there is an in between number for guys on the 40 man roster, but not the 25 man roster.
  12. It is two different and distinct thoughts. #1, I think he is struggling mentally, and having a tough time with something going on between him and the organization. #2, If someone has a problem with the way something is, they don't need to just accept it because that is the way it has been. They can actually do something about it and fight for a change.
  13. Let me put it in terms that are more applicable. Curt Flood. And I did make clear I wasn't comparing the situations, just to make the point that you don't have to roll over and play dead just because something "is the way it is". That's lazy at best. Ignorant at worst.
  14. This point of view is just unreal. With generations of history showing that if people don't like society or situations, they don't have to take it like a B, and that they can actually do something to try and do better. Civil, Gay, and Womens rights didn't "translate to the real world" generations ago, and people fixed that. Obviously this isn't on that level, but there is no reason to just roll over and play dead.
  15. A move like this isn't going to stop you from getting bullpen help, or anything else.
  16. Typically the reason you wouldn't claim a guy is if you don't want to pay his original contract, but in a case like this, I can't imagine he is making enough that it would have mattered. I get the feeling by not claiming him, the Sox are happier with what they have.
  17. Correct, which means they did not.
  18. Probably, yes. They will just press release one day that all 20 guys are signed.
