  1. I guess the real story to this rumor is that some sports radio broadcaster for 610 WIP Philadelphia named Howard Eskin is reporting a rumor about an Abreu + Gavin Floyd for Contreras + Dye trade. Eskin claims "that's what" he's hearing. http://forums.philly.com/n/mb/message.asp?...g=16305.1&ctx=1
  2. It's funny that these Phillies fans question the trade when their GM said everything you need to know a couple weeks ago... http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2295602
  3. Their starting third baseman is Tony freaking Batista. 'Nuff said.
  4. Here's the thread at PhilliesPhans.com: http://www.philliesphans.com/phorum/viewtopic.php?t=31815
  5. I would probably take that deal but doesn't Gavin Floyd have massive control problems?
  6. Not even close. Koch had three or four good seasons before he started to tank.
  7. He's probably just going to be in attendance and not involved in any storylines.
  8. Haha, so true. Many of the posters there would rather trade for Zito than Contreras. I really can't argue with that. Zito has had more consistent success than Contreras.
  9. That would be Ben Davis. Timo actually had to get off of his ass for 179 AB's.
  10. Not with Ozzie as our manager. He loves playing the lefty-lefty game.
  11. Not to mention that Grieve's defense will be the reason he's an afterthought in Ozzie's head. But he would be nice insurance at AAA.
  12. Favre says he's leaning toward retirement http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2311729
  13. Not according to KW's comments at SoxFest. Who do you think it will be?
  14. His control is even crazier -- 119 BB's in 141.2 career IP. :puke
  15. Who will win the last outfielder spot? Make your pick.
  16. Who will join Neal Cotts as the second lefty reliever in our bullpen? Make your pick.
  17. Crede recognized by adoring Sox fans Postseason hero looks to take momentum into '06 season http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb...t=.jsp&c_id=cws
  18. Orlando Cabrera, man what a waste of money he would have been. :puke I forgot about Finley. I think Finley's problem is either that he's just too damn old now or that he's finally off the juice, or both.
  19. Dye is still the worst hitter of the three so I'd rather see him batting fifth, regardless of worrying about the righty/lefty order. I still think a 3-4-5 of Thome, Konerko, and Dye makes the most sense.
  20. Richie Sexson and Adrian Beltre, although Sexson played with the Indians in the beginning of his career and Beltre only had one really good season in the N.L.
  21. Yep, Jose Awfulman played a bit with the Mets and Phillies last season. http://www.thebaseballcube.com/players/O/jose-offerman.shtml
  22. We need to add size, not stay the same with another undersized C & PF combination of Chandler and Harrington. We already tried that this season with Chandler and Sweetney and it didn't work. I don't know how you are watching Bulls games and don't see that Chandler absolutely needs to be our PF.
  23. Jim Thome... Indians... spanking us at the Cell. That's all you need to know. Hell, he even destroyed us in interleague with the Phillies.
