  1. This thread will be even funnier when it comes out that she used to be a man.
  2. I respect the Twins and am glad they are doing well. The Sox play best when the pressure's on - makes 'em keep their games faces on.
  3. Did I miss the part where it says the reason his Dad wasn't there was because of airfare costs? A quote? A mention? This is crap.
  4. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jun 26, 2008 -> 01:49 PM) None of them can. Your neighbor owning 50 guns isn't going to get you killed. And it may keep you alive and your property safe.
  5. QUOTE (kapkomet @ Jun 26, 2008 -> 10:57 AM) You guys got to exactly what I was trying to say. You get there your way, we'll get there ours.
  6. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Jun 26, 2008 -> 09:53 AM) If I was in charge, the forst logical step would be to blow up the existing entity and then reform as a non-profit industry advocacy group. The next step would be for RIAA and every non-artist to publicly concede that we are all eunuchs at the orgy, and that we have jobs and the industry exists solely because of the talents and creativity of the artists. Then we go from there. Ha ha, Jim. Like that would ever happen. In any industry.
  7. Understood. Al Gore, Sr was one of those Democrats blocking civil rights laws in the 60s. His son is still a Democrat. I just disagree that the parties are all that different now. To me, welfare is slavery and that's exacly where many Democratic lawmakers want to keep blacks and the poor. It's just in a different package now: Dem: "Let us help you (Since you're not good enough to help yourself)." GOP: "You're good enough. Pick your damned self up!" I agree with the GOP approach - it's means less government. Now, if we could only find some Republicans with some backbone to really implement it...
  8. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jun 26, 2008 -> 11:24 AM) Yes, because Robert Byrd being a Democrat means the Southern Strategy didn't happen and that nothing I said is true. You said former KKK members became Republicans. I'm just pointing out that the only former member of the KKK currently holding office in Washington is indeed a Democrat.
  9. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jun 26, 2008 -> 08:55 AM) All of that completely changed after the Civil Rights movement. The people who would be Republicans for racial reasons are now Democrats and vice versa. The Southern Democrats that supported the KKK and blocked the amendments etc. moved over to the Republican party and that has yet to change. Uh-huh. Like Robert Byrd.
  10. So if radio says, "We're advertising your product," and the RIAA says, "You're pirating our product, give us royalties," what's to stop the radio stations from charging the RIAA for advertising - just like they do the car dealership? So, the deal ends up like this: Radio charges the RIAA $0.01 for each song advertised (played) and the RIAA receives $0.01 royalties for each song played. Two can play this game. For years the RIAA has been getting free advertising.
  11. You have to have a credit card too. They don't accept cash. (Or at least they didn't the last time I was up there)
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 24, 2008 -> 09:59 AM) THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID! Yeah the patio party was too expensive for the college crowd so we are going to gather and tailgate. We haven't planned where that will be exactly, but we will figure it out and get details to everyone. 10-4. Thanks.
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 24, 2008 -> 09:50 AM) Game time is 2pm We are definately still looking for players. Damn, you're quick! And the plan is for a giant tailgate, not the patio party? What lot is the tailgate? I'm sure I'll forget all this and have to ask again before then.
  14. What's the time for the softball game again, Mike? My wife wants to go to a game and we may be able to get a babysitter. I don't think I can go alone, so if we can;t get a sitter I won't be there.
  15. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 20, 2008 -> 07:13 AM) Frank tore a muscle in his arm in a game against the Seattle Mariners. I think it was in May of 2001, and it was very cold. You beat me to it. I was there. It wasn't that cold. The other thing I remember about that game...we were sitting down the left field line just past the dugout and a chick got hit by a foul ball and went down immediately. Another chick nest to us was a nurse and ran down to help. She came back up and said, "She got hit in the leg!", rolling her eyes. Soon after the leg girl's boyfriend was carrying her up the stairs and she was balling like she was going to die. Back on topic, just PH Thome. The rest of the season is more important than these three games.
  16. I got married on Friday the 13th.
  17. Sure, I agree. I used to be a regular, but it was difficult dealing with so many idiotic lefties.
  18. I've heard some really bad trade proposals from callers to sports radio, but I think this takes the cake!
  19. Will Marriotti write about that today?

    Dice Baseball

Nope, but we did play Stratomatic Baseball.
  21. And you have to have a credit card. They don't do cash.
  22. We saw Ron Kittle at a St. John, Indiana bar on a Sunday afternoon. It's our softball sponsor and we always go there after our games. We decided to not bother him and sent over a drink. He came by on his way out. He was on his way back up from visiting his daughter at Indiana State, I believe. Oh yeah, he bought us a round before he left.
  23. What is the law exactly? I believe they can talk about any political issue, but have to stop short of pointing out which candidate agrees / disagrees with the church's beliefs.
  24. Not to split hairs, but I think abortion is more of a religious issue than a political one. At least originally. Gay marriage I couldn't care less about. I can see the point on both sides. My priest has gotten pretty close to the line, but it is very infrequent. If it was more rampant I'd be finding another church, because he leans a little toward even distribution of income, IMO.
  25. The specifics in this case are moot because Brisco was still in his car and pretty much defenseless, but for arguement's sake I say I'd probably just hold onto her until track officials or someone else could restrain her. But, I'd never hit her. I might try to cop a feel, though.
