    Pet peeves....

People that drive in the rain or fog without headlights. Yes, I know you can see, but the lights are so others can see you.

    Pet peeves....

More walkers: The people you pass on the sidewalk and then they step in front of you at the "Don't Walk" sign only to have to pass them again.

    Pet peeves....

QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Nov 6, 2007 -> 11:14 AM) As a fellow commuter I have to agree with this 100%. I can write a whole fricken thread on the s*** that pisses me off as a commuter. In that same group are the people that don't walk a straight line. You start to walk past them and they start "merging" left. So, you switch to the right and now they're going that way!

    Pet peeves....

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Nov 6, 2007 -> 06:00 AM) People who start a pet peeves thread on a message board. "THAT WAS EASY" - Circuit City Stupid button ™ People that don't know the difference between Cicuit City™ - Electronics store and Staples™ - Office supply store. Now, "THAT WAS EASY"
  5. Mike, you might be the only one that laughs at this because you're the only onw who knows me, but I thought it was worth posting. I'm the main character with the Sox hat and my buddy is the "girl". My other friends are the Democrats. Republicans Bad! Give it a little bit to load and then press play. Safe for work.
  6. Where is "Hook him up with a coed"??
  7. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Oct 30, 2007 -> 12:07 PM) I agree with Mr. Eye. I was looking for the "never" also. The "does not apply" didn't apply to my answer. Exactly. I look at the "Does not apply" as the answer for questions about skipping school work if you don't go to school or passing on doing it with your wife / gf if you don't have either.
  8. "If I said you had a beautiful body would you hold it against me?"
  9. Why is there not a "Never" choice?

    Haunted Houses

QUOTE(Brian @ Oct 24, 2007 -> 09:49 PM) I was at one when I was a kid and a monster or something grabbed me. Never been since. I'm not much of a Halloween person anyway. Ummm...you know there's no such thing as monsters, right?
  11. I've seen it before, but this time I remembered to favorite it. Thanks, Jim. Plus, I didn't have the volume up last time. I've never heard that song before. It almost brings tears to my eyes. It almost sounds like Frank wrote it about Comiskey - he sings about fireworks exploding. Any info on that? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/There_Used_to_Be_a_Ballpark
  12. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Oct 18, 2007 -> 12:53 AM) Allow me to bask briefly in my taxonomic dorkiness to inform you—wholly without the aid of The Google, mind you—that the skunk in that video is Mephites mephites, and not the co-occurring American skunk species Spilogale putorius or its western congener S. gracilis. I took Mammalogy in my senior year of college 20 years ago (yikes), and I still can't purge that cr@p from the cranial hard drive. . . But, seriously, calling animal control is not the only option. If the skunk is a male and you or one of your neighbors has a pet cat (black with a white belly works best), you can arrange for it to rub against some wet white paint and the resulting stripe down its back often fools skunks into thinking the cat is a female skunk. At that point you can usually get the cat to lead the skunk off your property. I have seen Chuck Jones depict this very strategy on several occasions, so I think your chances of success are quite high. [A quick word of caution, however. Make sure the cat knows if she is running away from le' skunk and finds that she has accidentally run off the edge of a cliff, she should NOT LOOK DOWN, because she apparently will only succumb to the pull of gravity after she has looked down to discover she is suspended in mid-air.] Beautiful, Jim. Just beautiful. (The part about Pepe le Pew - not the science BS)
  13. QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Oct 12, 2007 -> 07:13 AM) What does the environment have to do with world peace, anyway? I was wondering the same thing.
  14. QUOTE(mr_genius @ Oct 11, 2007 -> 10:57 PM) bags is a great game still not as good as horseshoes I agree, but you can't play horseshoes at tailgates. (I'm still trying to think of a way.)

    Do I go?

QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 10, 2007 -> 11:29 AM) There is a lot there. Certainly the events leading up to the moment, Vietnam, Iran, Inflation, Oil Crisis, left us feeling a bit defeated. Along comes Reagan, his great "tear down this wall" line. And we won something. We won the cold war. In reality, dispite what Nuke will counter with, The USSR was in trouble before Reagan and would have collapsed in time, no matter what Reagan did. And I think anyone looking at this objectively would say that Reagan probably had some help. Perhaps Congress? Maybe other nations? Perhaps the governments of many Soviet block countries. Yes, but you could also say that those Soviet bloc countries wouldn't have had the "balls" to do anything without Reagan's speeches, etc. Don't get me wrong, I loved Reagan - my daughter's name is Reagan - but, I think he gets a litte too much credit from the right (Some act like he brought down Communism on his own) and not enough credit from the left.
  16. A Pub by me, our softball sponsor, has leagues. It's pretty big.
  17. QUOTE(dasox24 @ Oct 11, 2007 -> 02:17 AM) I love Google Maps. It's a fun way to pass some time when you have nothing else to do. I agree. I spend a lot of time "wandering" the streets of Las Vegas.

    Do I go?

QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 9, 2007 -> 10:24 PM) Upcoming speakers in this free series include John F. Kennedy Jr. I'd like to see that. Isn't he dead?
  19. I saw the van go by on Congress in late June / early July. I was hoping to see myslef, but don't. There's a couple blogs out there that post funny things found by the Google Street View - a couple making out in a park, a half naked guy walking down the street, reflections of the van they use, etc.
  20. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 26, 2007 -> 02:22 PM) Too bad Bill wasn't acting White enough. Then he would have been OK. So who exactly are the decency police and where is the manual of what is acceptable and what is not for sale at? One thing that's not acceptable is ending a sentence with a preposition.
  21. QUOTE(mr_genius @ Sep 25, 2007 -> 10:29 PM) Everyone is racist except me. That's racist!
  22. Keep voting in the same people, Chicago. You only get what you ask for.
  23. --Says that the GOP Congress deserved its 2006 beat-down, because they had traded "principle for power" --Says he was very close to, and highly respected, many of the people Bush brought into the administration. But that on a policy level, many of them "veered off course" Wow. The same problems that Conservatives have with him and the reason for his 36% approval rating.

    About Your Bed

I love getting into a made bed, so if I were the last one up it would be done everyday. But, my wife is the last one up, sooo...it never gets done! This is one of my biggest pet peeves with her, but I don't say a thing.
  25. Is the video online somewhere? I was on a plane.
