Is 2006 the year the Sox pass the 100 mark?
They have the potentional to exceed 100, but I also think 95 will be enough to win the division and I see us having an unforseen injury and Ozzie being extra careful with the staff, even with that depth. Yep, no analysis, just a gut feel after I threw a few chicken bones on the ground.

Sox DID get SI cover!
QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jan 4, 2006 -> 07:14 PM) Way off topic, but Joe, you get to any Predator games? That is, if you're from Nashville, TN. I go every time they play the Blackhawks down here and maybe once a month after that. Thinking of trying to get tickets to this Friday's game when the Dead Wings come down. Crowds are pretty tame and its a family atmosphere, similiar to going to a Wolves game.

I have no idea why they ove this guy so much, he is football version of the Cubs. Down here you better bow your head and genuflect while saying 10 Hail Peytons when mentioning Manning's name. :puke

Didn't Steve Smith use to play for the Blackhawks before joining the NFL during the lockout?

Who was the last prospect that panned out?
QUOTE(ZeroHour @ Dec 15, 2005 -> 10:14 PM) I want to know some Sox draft picks that have made a consistent above-average major league impact on the team for a considerable duration of time. Off the top of my head: Ozzie Guillen I understood that we acquired Ozzie from the Padres in the LaMarr Hoyt trade.

Renovation????
QUOTE(UC76 @ Dec 29, 2005 -> 01:57 PM) The all-green will look so much better. I never understood the blue seats. Supposedly the color blue makes it easier for both the batters and fielders to pick up the ball. So they said at the time.

The end of an era in Chicago
That was disappointing to read. The Berghoff is always one of the restaurants that I suggest to people down here when they travel up to Chicago.

Bobby Wade "Appreciation" Thread
I had a field day down here when the Titans signed him. After hearing their fans mock Da Bears offense all season, it was great to give them the business about signing one of our rejects. Still nice article about Bobby!

got my copy of SI WS review book today!
I give them a great chance at contending for another World Series title.

Baseball in Las Vegas
QUOTE(ScottPodRulez22 @ Dec 29, 2005 -> 01:44 PM) The team there woudnt have any real fans just tourist. I think it would be tourists and also locals who have moved there from elsewhere such as Chicago and New York and St. Louis. etc... Down here in Nashville, the NHL Predators have a core of local support, but they also have a lot of transplants like me who go to see the Blackhawks or the RedWings or the Rangers etc..

Those are pretty sweet pictures. I hope you find a few more as I missed most of them down here. Already bringing back fond memories.

QUOTE(chitownsportsfan @ Dec 28, 2005 -> 04:56 PM) I point you here: http://www.fangraphs.com/graphs.aspx?playe...age=7&type=full In 2005, Pods had a .351 OBP, which for a "leadoff hitter" is pretty average. His I keep finding cool links here.

Baseball in Las Vegas
Here are a couple of articles that discuss the attempts that Las Vegas is making to land a MLB team along with the odds of a few teams under consideration. Who would not jump on a plane to see the Sox play the A's or Twins in Sin City? If the Twins move, I wonder if they will bring the Rangers back to the Central. pretty good article on kw
It's a good article. Kenny made some mistakes, but he learned from them and we are now the World Champs and favorites to repeat. Go Kenny!!

Scoop Jackson is one of us
Scoop was right on target when he said the Sox deserved to be on the cover of SI. Of course guys like Scoop and Mariotti write to enflame and create controversy. However, once in a while, like all of us, they get it right too. Bottom line: SI gave us the shaft.

2006 Hall of Fame Ballot
Getting back on track with Ozzie in the Hall, there is no way he makes it in as a player. A better question, will Ozzie get the minimum 5% of the vote needed to remain on the ballet next season?

Jon Garland signs a 3 year extension
Great News about the signing of Garland! How did I miss it until now? I hope they keep Contreas as well and see how this plays out. No since trading for the sake of trading.
