What happened to Haigwood??

Great Falls White Sox
The other way to evaluate our pitchers is to see how many teams want to trade for them.
-
anyone listening to ESPN?
I guess all this trade talk means that Carl Everett was not our "missing piece" after all. Of course, we will still have to give up Pacheco, Webster, and Rupe, or whomever. The other day I was reading the NY Times, and there was a very brief note in there about how much they liked Royce Ring.

Is Brian Anderson hurt?

Minor League Boxes for Sunday
I'm sure that the Rangers will prefer Pacheco over Diaz in the Everett deal.

Big League debut this weekend?
He would have to be added to the 40 man roster. There is room now, but they might want to use it for others before 9-1-03.

Charlotte
I noticed they split a double header last night. Gload hit a ninth inning game winning homer to win one game. He had two hits for the night, Hankins just one. Averages are .340 and .352. I still don't see why we can't bring up one of these guys, since Konerko and Koch are candidates for the DL. Hankins played second base in one game. Joe B went 1 for 6.

Malone Returns
Malone is on the 40 man roster, so a decision will have to be made about him in a few months.

Manual
Howry got us that Korean pitcher, An, who has some potential, but all those little trades aren't significant yet. Giving up three prime prospects for Everett, and sitting Ev so Konerko can get some at bats in the middle of the lineup Tuesday night.....

Reed #1 On "HotSheet"
Hey, guys, we have a real live HITTER in Charlotte right now who is around .385. We have not hit at all in 3 out of the last 4 games. Any other team struggling to hit .240 would bring him up. (Hankins)
-
I am done with Konerko
.185 batting average going into the game speaks volumes. We have a guy in Charlotte hitting 200 points higher, but he is too old at age 27. We have a second guy in Charlotte hitting 160 points higher, but he is also 27, which is too old. Both of them play first base, plus other positions. What is so complicated here? Konerko will most likely continue playing 25% of the games or so, probably with similar results.

wtf is this horse shit
Maybe it's time to get on JM's ass again. Sox yawned their way through 8 innings so far.
-
Everett pinch it single
With all that we are about to give up for Ev, we gotta play him. Still, Konerko and Lee get the starts.

The official "Fuck Detroit" thread
Because we are one of the weakest teams. We'll probably lose two low scoring games and score a s***potful in the third game and walk away happy because we outscored the Tigers. Just like against the Rays.

The official "Fuck Detroit" thread
Old Man Sandy should get more playing time. We are supposedly going for a division title, or so I thought. Sandy is the better guy right now.

Willis dogging Cubs
Marlins won 4-3.

The official "Fuck Detroit" thread
Manual said yesterday that he would "rest" Ev Tuesday because he had a speaking engagement Monday and would be tired from the trade, or something to that effect.

Say it ain't so Mags.....
I don't think there is any point in talking about Borchard until he proves he can hitt AAA pitching.
-
Mindblowing Trade Idea...
No way. MB will be with the Sox for quite a while. If there would be a trade, it would most likely be in the off season. MB will probably be our best pitcher for the balance of 2003.
-
Say it ain't so Mags.....
Sure, they have the ability. But he is due $14 MM next year and he's hitting .280. No reason to panic and throw more money at him. As good as he is, there is a limit on how much you can pay a player. If Maggs wants to play hard ball the Sox next year, we can always play Reed at a minimum contract.

Red Sox Dirty Dozen
We would not be adding Todd Jones to our staff, however.

Minor League Boxes for Monday
I believe his original surgery was TJ, and then he had subsequent work under the knife. Barring another physical setback this year, I hope we take a chance on this kid and put him on the 40 man roster in the off season.

Minor League Boxes for Monday
Lisk started the season at Kanny where he hit .190 in over 40 games. Stumm will need to be protected on the 40 man roster or be lost. Our Gt Falls catcher Deuchler is a 2003 late round draft pick, and he has hit well from the start.
