    Rios

Yeah, he was tearing the cover off the ball one week when he had two hits. Same time when Jiminez was making circus catches and running wild on the bases.
  2. Cycles go in cycles. The Sox made a lot of mistakes, but they will achieve semi-equal footing again, if they just stop stepping on their proverbial dicks too many times. We have the opportunity now to do something special, like winning the division. I always thought the Sox f***ed up by building the new park where it is, but there is no use b****ing about it now. We just need to put together a winning streak and stay hot during the playoffs.

    Deadline

I'm sure it's the 25th. The reports on the 31st were all pretty early, before the dust settled. This way the Sox have 6 more days to trade away the five prospects the Rangers rejected.
  4. Rex, do we have too many pitchers? Is that the method of the madness to trade away pitching prospects?
  5. The Mets have two pitchers named Almonte in the system. Are we sure this is our guy?
  6. Maybe Josh Stewart was hurt when he pitched with us early in the season. He went on the DL shortly after we sent him down. I also thought his stuff was awful, said so, and was verbally thrashed by Mr. Hudler. He should be healthy next year and will no doubt be given another chance, since he is still on the 40 man roster.
  7. Maybe Sammie will move to center.
  8. Jason, Hankins just turned 27 last week. I know that disqualifies him for the BA prospect list, but the Sox should give him a good look. I mean, he hit well at AA, hit even better at AAA, he plays 2-3 positions. If you guys build him up on the FutureSox List, maybe the Sox will pay attention to him He's about the same age as Crede, who is hitting .227. Hankins is in the .380's. If you can hit, you can hit (Yogi said that once). We must maintain our objectivity.
  9. I don't agree that Perez is available. The Dodger brass has to decide quickly if they are in it this year. Right now they are 6.5 games out, and sliding. If they don't add a stick soon, they will throw in the towel. Maybe they already have. They have to have some decent prospects available for Lee.
  10. Jason, I saw it on BA. Wookie, you have a lot of questions. Do you know that Jason charges for answers.
  11. Shuey has always had big time stuff, but any trade with the Bums should include prospects for us. I am not familiar with the Dodgers' minor leaguers, however. Lee is definitely trade-able. Then we could leave Ev in left every day and let him hit.
  12. They might go after Aaron Rowand. They could do worse.
  13. While on the subject of our minor league prospects, I noticed today that one of our young players, third baseman Ed Varella of Kannapolis, is no longer on the team. I realize he is not the same caliber of propect as is Reed, but last year he was pretty productive at Bristol. This year he was hitting in the .230's at Kanny. Jason or Rex, or anybody, do you know what happened to Varella. Tks.
  14. Now # 1 Prospect by Baseball America.
  15. I'd like to offer Lee to the Dodgers for a couple of prospects that would offset the big time price we will be paying for Everett.
  16. I saw a replay of the injury, and although it looked awkward, I didn't think it would be anywhere near that serious.
  17. Ghost, I was convinced after that strike out Saturday. Three curves ankle high, and he swung at all three. That homer off the Cubs (Estes) ocurred when Estes could not get a curve over to save himself, and he literally grooved a fast ball for Olivo. Probably the most hittable pitch of the year. Of course, he did hit it. I think Olivo will end up under .200 for the season but will improve next year.
  18. How about Hankins? 3 for 3. Closing in on .400. He has to be getting some attention. Jason, do you think he will make your top 50 Prospect List next time?
  19. Let's hope he starts hitting. He will probably be brought up in Sept. He will need winter ball after that. If he doesn't progress in 2004, he might be done.
  20. Was that interview recorded, taped, or what? Baker had to be kidding, teasing, joking, tongue in cheek, something.
  21. Biddle had a tough one on Saturday.. Error by shortsop kept the inning alive, and Rocky couldn't get the last out.
  22. Are there two ChiSoxFans on this board. There is one who seems to really know his baseball, makes a lot of great points about the team, has original thoughts, and is a pretty good writer. Then there is another guy with the same name who claims to be a "huge" Jiminez fan. How can they be the same person?

I never heard the specifics of his current injury. Is it related to his previous injury?
