  1. The way he's stepped it up lately, he probably is in the top 10.
  2. Actually, he got hit hard last year, too, but he had a two year contract. I just can't believe Boston signed him.
  3. If PK gets it going, JM will have a lineup problem. Too many hitters.
  4. ESPN showed Frank's blast seconds after it was hit. Hawk was going ape s***. The announcers said that no team in baseball feels as good about themselves as the White Sox.
  5. The Rockies released reliever Todd Jones about a week ago. He was reeally getting hit hard. Opponent's BA was about .360 And Boston just signed him.
  6. ESPN showed replays of both PK's homer and Robbie's near miss.
  7. Just reporting what I heard, MN. No value judgement on my part. Once that uniform goes on, I'm in their corner.
  8. Stark was somewhat negative. Regarding Alomar, he reported how Robbie has lost it from the right side, his overall average has gone down so much that he doesn't see how he can just "turn a switch" to get his skills back. Regarding Ev, he said that his average has gone way down after a quick start, and that his bat speed is questionable. Also expressed doubt about his ability to play center, which is what the Sox need. I'm sure we'll get a lot of scouting reports tonight.
  9. I hear Jennie Craig wants to meet both Bart and Ev.
  10. First, he has to beat the s*** out of somebody.
  11. I wish you guys wouldn't keep talking about draft picks next year for Alomar and Ev. We first have to offer them arbitration, and then they must refuse it. What happens if Ev hits .180, and we offer arbitration? He would accept it, because it would represent a guaranteed salary commensurate with his service time. Then we are stuck. Conversely, if he hits .380 with another 20 homers, we could offer arbitration, he could refuse, and we would then get a draft pick from his new team. Right now, there are no draft picks.
  12. OldRoman, all I said was that both Rowand and Borchard were given big time opportunities in center, and neither one stepped up, until in the last 10 days when Rowand has improved his play. Obviously, it's too late for him for 2003. I said that if either JoeB or Aaron had played well from the start of the season, then this trade would not be deemed necessary. If Aaron had been hitting .270-.280 with some power and good defense and speed, all of which were expected, we would not be having these posts now.
  13. Anything except Ev's grocery bill.
  14. And if they don't, he'll beat 'em up.
  15. Hey, Jason, your Prospect List is pretty much out dated now. Can we have a new one by Noon tomarrow?
  16. I just can't believe the price would be so high since Ev's contract is up after this year.
  17. JM better be worried, because Everett can pinch his head off if he wants. I have always felt that Everett was very close to damaging Jimy Williams' face.
  18. The 260 pound Everett will be a free agent after this season.
  19. Everett looks like he's bigger than Frank Thomas. Do we have to feed him, too?
  20. Cerb, that is the funniest thing I heard all year.
  21. There isn't any way we would give up Reed is there? Noooo, I didn't think so.
  22. Apparently DJ is not going to Texas. Just part of the July 1 purge.
  23. We know we have Everett sans his salary; he waived his no trade clause; Rios and Jiminez are gone; we gave up three prospects; they insist on keeping the names a secret.
  24. You know, all this Everett B.S. wouldn't be necessary if either one of these guys had come through in the first two months of the season, and they both had a chance. Rowand's re-emergence came too late, apparently. Now it looks as if Cotts is gone.
