Breaking News on ESPNews: "Reports: Padres P Jake Peavy rejects trade to White Sox."
-
If he declined this, he automatically joins Tayshaun Prince, Rajon Rondo and the Minnesota Twins on my least favorite athletes ever.
-
CQ just got a base hit and we scored a run. It's a good sign.
-
Peavy is 8-8 with a 3.29 ERA in 20 starts vs AL teams in his career.
-
QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ May 21, 2009 -> 06:01 PM) Where are you hearing that? Very good chance he's making that up.
-
Cite some freaking sources people. Effin a.

Peavy can't possibly like what he sees if he's watching todays game. Yikes.

QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ May 21, 2009 -> 05:41 PM) ESPNNews just promo-ed the fact they will talk about other trades the White Sox may make if the Peavy trade goes through.....should be an interesting discussion after the commercial break. Nothing new. Basically that no matter what, KW is open for business. Thome, Dye, Dotel would be the 1st to go in a firesale. Danks and Quentin aren't going anywhere, and Burls probably isn't either.

16-0....yikes.

QUOTE (BearSox @ May 21, 2009 -> 05:18 PM) Same here. I think we were the only ones who wanted Edwin Jackson. You can't teach stuff. I was all for it depending on the price.
-
QUOTE (fathom @ May 21, 2009 -> 05:14 PM) I can't believe Edwin Jackson ended up being so good so far. A lot of us missed that one. Pretty much everyone I know in Michigan was livid they gave up Matt Joyce for Jackson. It was a great deal for them and I've said that from the beginning and it's definitely paying off.

Gage is like a celebrity. Multiple birthday threads, one that lasts for over a year, and even birthday wishes a month late (or 11 months early).

QUOTE (tommy @ May 21, 2009 -> 03:12 AM) I'm gonna play the other side and ask; if Jake Peavy does get scratched from his next start, do we then get excited? It'd certainly make things much more interesting.

This would be a pretty insane move, and would REALLY come out of the blue. We'd be taking on a good chunk of salary, but damn Peavy/Buehrle/Danks/Floyd/Colon is pretty damn solid.
-
Interesting to see how far up in the batters box both Danks and Beckham hit.
-
As much as I want the Magic to win, they have no shot. The ref's will probably make sure of it either way. I expect Lebron to drive all day, and Howard to get into some foul trouble.

Slayer was FINALLY back in action after a 10 day layoff. He went 0-4.

What the hell are people freaking out about...they're feasting on the Astros and Padres of late. Hitting their stride my ass. Their last meaningful series, they lost 2 of 3 to the team in front of them in the NLC. And do they really expect Ryan Theriot to carry their offense? It's only a matter of time before Soriano pulls a hammy doing a hop in the outfield or something.

QUOTE (G&T @ May 14, 2009 -> 11:54 AM) I got 8 out of 10. Honestly, I cheated on the ways to get to first. I was just really curious. I was only able to come up with like 5 ways to get to first on my own. I came up with 7 off the top of my head so I assumed it was 8 and I missed something... Single Base on Balls IBB (wasn't sure if they deciphered) HBP Dropped Third-Strike Fielder's Choice Reached on Error Looking at the list now, I can't believe I didn't get catcher interference. We used to stand WAAAAY back in the batters box in high school if the catcher's arm was out there.

Ask and you shall receive... From the 2007 Team USA Report before the Pan-Am games... This from March 2nd... A pre-draft report... From Feb 2008, College Baseball Prospects... He was originally drafted in 2005 by the White Sox in the 19th round in 2005 but chose to play at Texas. He was out 7th round pick last season, but many saw him as 1st round talent. So some names that he's been compared to are Dexter Fowler, Drew Stubbs, and Jacoby Ellsbury, which is promising. He's an average/on-base guy with potential for 20+ HR if he fills out more. Could be the lead-off man we're looking for down the road.
-
He's got a 1.98 ERA through 7 starts in BHam. 4-0, 41 IP, 37 K, 16 BB, 1 HR, 14 R (9 earned), 34 hits against
-
That bat flip is going to be epic in Chicago. He's struggled quite a bit in BHam, but he's been slowly improving. Despite the average, he's been a huge run produce for them. Lot's of RBIs.
-
Danks is 8-22 in his 1st 5 games. 2 2B, 2 BB, 1 SB, 1 CS.

QUOTE (jasonxctf @ May 13, 2009 -> 12:40 PM) 4 of which he turned into doubles. They were probably all in the same game and stolen off of Contreras.
