QUOTE(VAfan @ Jul 8, 2005 -> 04:36 PM) Let's see, Jon Rauch is still toiling in the minors for the Nats (or is he hurt), and Matt Guerrier was traded right before the season started for Damaso Marte if I recall correctly. I think KW actually gives more than many teams do in July trades, but it makes other teams willing to deal with him. And this year, I think that could be a real plus. I like our chances of picking up a quality starter who can help us in the playoffs. You prove my point. Fate has yet to hurt us when it comes to prospects. What says this year will be a big difference???

How many games up do we need to be in July

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 8, 2005 -> 04:33 PM) f***ing waste of a first round fantasy pick thus far. I hear that s***! -
Well, MB, is officially my favorite Sox player!!!!!!
-
QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 8, 2005 -> 04:26 PM) BTW tony, the DRays are a good hitting team. There are probably stats backing that up but the overall record makes me very skeptical. Of course, their sorry ass pitching staff accounts to this as well.

20 games up or more seals it to me. Until then, keep winning. BTW, we still gotta play the Twinks like 15 times in August/September.... -
QUOTE(DukeNukeEm @ Jul 8, 2005 -> 03:43 PM) If he can get 103 over the plate it doesnt matter where it is. The batters just have to swing the bat randomly and hope they make contact. You pretty much gotta swing as soon as he let's it go.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Jul 8, 2005 -> 10:17 AM) The family Sutherland. Donald and Kiefer. WHAT! Queefer Sutherland is OVERrated IMO.

QUOTE OF THE YEAR RIGHT HERE: GUARANTEED! BOOKMARK THIS ONE PEOPLE: In the "Jimmy Piersall Can Go To Hell" thread, the Critic had this to say:
-
QUOTE(The Critic @ Jul 8, 2005 -> 12:26 PM) And right after Piersall made his comments, he pissed his pants, ran the bases backwards and climbed a fence. Question: when Derek Jeter needs to take a s***, does he have to pry Rob Dibble's lips off his ass with a crowbar? JESUS, what a love letter THAT was. I'm glad Podsednik's going, but I wouldn't have cared either way if he didn't win the vote. I'm just glad the "Face Of Baseball" won't be there. Maybe they can have Jeter throw out the first pitch, run towards the stands and bash his face against a box seat. ABSOLUTELY HANDS DOWN THE QUOTE OF THE YEAR! NO DOUBT ABOUT IT!
-
QUOTE(Balance @ Jul 8, 2005 -> 01:48 PM) Well, I'm new here, and I thought that we'd all be familiar with that particular "Hawk-ism." My apologies. What are you talking about? I have never heard Hawk use that line before!
-
Speaking of Jenks, I missed his debut but I hear his curve is nasty and his fastball reaches 103!?! Hopefully I get to see him tonight. Well, hopefully not because the longer Garland goes, the better.

QUOTE(knightni @ Jul 8, 2005 -> 02:23 PM) ^^^^^^ Ooh, good idea! "Eye of The Tiger" would be a great one. Hell yeah, came up with that myself!

2004 Shingo = 2005 Hermy 2006 Hermy = 2005 Shingo?????

QUOTE(The Critic @ Jul 8, 2005 -> 12:10 PM) Your 20-board post totals STILL don't equal ss2k5's total here, though..... Why the green???

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jul 8, 2005 -> 12:08 PM) That film shoub be a mandatory part of every grade school curriculum. Very true lol. I learned so much. But of course, like the fat-ass family we are, we immediately went out and got a few Fruit/Yogurt Parfaits and Hot Fudge Sundaes.

QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Jul 8, 2005 -> 11:56 AM) It was great...the spurlock guy was pretty entertaining... I went right out and ate 2 big mac meals. I loved the experiment of how the fries never spoiled after like 3 months.
-
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 7, 2005 -> 07:21 PM) Just like they should have in 2002...they had plenty of prospects to trade...I'm sure someone would happily have given them a veteran starting pitcher for this rookie named Francisco Rodriguez sometime in July that year. See: Jon Rauch, and MANY other Sox prospects who were traded. Matt Guerrier...Etc.

QUOTE(GLOAD is GOD @ Jul 8, 2005 -> 11:57 AM) Didn't gammons just write an article no more than a week ago about his mid season baseball opinions, and he wrote (I'll try to find the article, it is a forum on the website though) that his two biggest surprises were THe Washington Nationals and the Chicago White Sox, this just showing the man has a memorary comprable to Ronald Reagan WELCOME!!!!!!!!!!!

QUOTE(VAfan @ Jul 8, 2005 -> 11:54 AM) C'mon, don't you get the point either? Look at our club. If we make the postseason, what do we need to get to and win the World Series? It should be obvious. A reliable 4th starter ought to be priority #1. The best one we can get (depending on the price). This would be my current priority list: 1. Jason Schmidt (in part b/c I'd like to swap SS too). 2. AJ Burnett (if Miami will take Contreras as part of deal). 3. Jamie Moyer 4. Roger Clemens (would be #1, but it's not going to happen). Miami????? Taking Contreras?????

Anyone watch "Super-Size Me"???? I loved it! Thought it was one of the better documentaries of late.

QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Jul 8, 2005 -> 11:40 AM) Wow, amazing...1000...I really need to get a real job! BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Congrats...your only 375,257,943,475,235,773 away from SS2k5 now!

I'd come out with a silk black robe jogging and punching my way to the mound as a closer all while "Eye of the Tiger" is playing in the background! Then, I come to the infield grass, rip off the robe, and jog up and down the mound, get to the rubber, and throw both arms in the air in celebration!

QUOTE(ceffa2000 @ Jul 8, 2005 -> 11:41 AM) How hard is it to figure out? Seems like one of the easier decisions during the course of the game . . . "Hmmmmm, let's see. I can bring him in to play LF in the 6th inning or so. Let's see, he is also a lead-off hitter so where can I put him in the line-up???" Francona

I could probably do some stuff with a name change or group member name but I am too supersticious. White Sox succes = NO CHANGES!
