QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 6, 2013 -> 12:23 AM) Looks pretty secure there. Hand wrapped around ball, ball on ground, knee on ground. If his knee is on the ground, then it would look as if it is down in the grass, much like you see a portion of the ball covered by grass. Compare his knee to the OSu defensive end on the far left's knee. -

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 5, 2013 -> 11:02 PM) Really obvious he was short. Dude, no. And I'm an objective observer who cut the highlight for TV. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 6, 2013 -> 12:16 AM) That's really not all that definitive. -

QUOTE (zenryan @ Oct 5, 2013 -> 02:05 PM) Has looked good but he's played absolute trash defenses. We'll see how good this Florida St team really is in two weeks when they play at Clemson. Pitt's defense was top 20 last year and returned 9 starters. Maryland was one of the best defenses in the country coming into today. -
QUOTE (Y2HH @ Oct 4, 2013 -> 12:28 PM) When did you start working out that your weight suddenly started dropping? Is this recent? Two weeks ago, what did you weigh, and what do you weigh now? Did you just start working out/strength training in this manner within the last few weeks? Did you change anything in your diet? IE, were you drinking 5 beers a day, and suddenly stopped? The only thing that changed was starting work again - meaning an additional two (or so) miles of walking a day, and less food. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Oct 4, 2013 -> 12:42 PM) Get a jar of Peanut Butter, seriously. It's my best friend. Need more. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 4, 2013 -> 01:22 PM) Youre probably burning off some of that crappy weight. Keep it up and keep eating and you should see gains. Its a marathon not a sprint. This has been an 18 month thing for me. I could still stand to lower my body fat % but I don't necessarily think I have a ton of crappy weight left to lose. And I totally get the point of looking at the big picture. Just a bit frustrating when I'm not seeing the results I want and I can't entirely control it.

Just traded Larry Fitzgerarld/Eric Decker/Chris Johnson for Calvin Johnson/Trent Richardson/Kenny Britt. I had a ton of good WR so I dealt for an elite one and added to my RB stable. This now gives me: QB Manning RB Rice/Bush/Bernard/Trent/Bradshaw WR Calvin/Garcon/S. Johnson/Blackmon/N. Washington/Jeffery/Britt TE Olsen D/ST Panthers K Gould Now I'd love to figure out a way to package those 2 of those RB not named Bush plus a WR for an elite RB. -
QUOTE (Y2HH @ Oct 4, 2013 -> 12:20 PM) HIGHLY doubtful. But again, living here, this is easy to fix. Start eating more. A question for you then: I rarely weigh myself. A number isn't nearly as important to me as what I actually look like. With that said, my weight has consistently gone down over the last week or two, despite regular strength training. Am I being too short-sighted? I woke up today at 202.5 and I want to be at about 215.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Oct 4, 2013 -> 12:08 PM) This is much easier than the other way around This is very true, but I'm just concerned that my body is depleting muscle due because of insufficient nutrition. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Oct 4, 2013 -> 12:14 PM) Sounds like an easy to fix problem. No time to go grocery shopping, plus I'm regularly back and forth between two residences, which is annoying. It's something I need to make time for, no doubt.

QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 4, 2013 -> 08:49 AM) One of my favs of all time. Rare show that got better as the series went on. I'm a few episodes into season 4, just after the re-districting of the school.

I'm not eating nearly enough to gain the muscle I'm looking to gain. This is a problem.

I have spent most of my free time lately watching Friday Night Lights. I have no clue how I wasn't all over this show when I was in college.

Very glad to have started Fred Jackson tonight. -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 3, 2013 -> 11:35 AM) Thanks. That makes a bit more sense. Yeah, there was a number of late/cheap/questionable hits at the end of that game from the Ducks. Roy is awesome.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 2, 2013 -> 11:41 AM) It tows like a mF'er too. I love my ride. My 2013 was a first model and its a little quickly with the electronics, but its an awesome vehicle I fully recommend getting the Hemi as the engine loosens up and gets better with age. its also rock solid. Good to know. Much appreciated.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 1, 2013 -> 10:35 AM) MJ talks http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/9753017/...ron-james-prime J4L, your move. "Where he'd say this at? Oh, it was for my game? It's good promotion then," James said. My game? Lol. OK. MJ was on the cover when he was 47. And 48. And is sponsored by the game.

Crawford was impressive in the third period. Love his fire in the net. Hossa still has the wheels. Saad looks poised for a good season. Kane picked up right where he left off. PK was poor early on, but killing off the 5-on-3 late was wild. Nice win.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Sep 30, 2013 -> 04:17 PM) The team and person who Verducci modeled his theory after is Rick Peterson, who was then pitching coach for the A's. He went to the Mets and the Brewers thereafter and is now basically the head pitching instructor for the Baltimore Orioles. Verducci raved about how Peterson was handling top pitching prospect Dylan Bundy because they shut him down and this and that and whatever. Of course, as we all know, Bundy needed Tommy John surgery come Spring Training. Same thing happened to the Rays with their top pitching prospect Taylor Guerrieri. They held him out of the Midwest League ASG, didn't allow him to play in the Future's Game, skipped a start here and there, and when they finally let him back on the mound - injured elbow and TJ.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 1, 2013 -> 03:43 PM) JGC right now are fantastic cars. You will get a more solid car than you've seen them build in years and they come in a variety of flavors. I highly recommend picking one up. Looking for 2009 or newer and two musts are 4x4 and a trailer hitch. I've heard nothing but good things about their safety ratings and reliability, plus it seems their depreciation value is pretty damn good, as even cars five years or younger with 100,000+ miles are still going for well over 10 grand.

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Oct 1, 2013 -> 01:09 PM) Do you consider yourself a meso, or somewhere between an ecto/meso? Either way, consider it a blessing, it'll be easier to pack on muscle. If your shoulders are a particular problem area, I'd start by dedicating one day a week specifically to your shoulders. On that day, your focus is your shoulders, and ONLY your shoulders. Utilization compound movements to bulk them out, followed up by some isolation exercises. I'd start off with barbell military presses, and follow those up with some arnold presses before moving on to trap exercises and isolation exercises to target the individual muscles in your shoulder. Your shoulders are important, as they're what will give you that bulked up look, moreso than anything else. I generally break down my workout days my muscle groups. Generally legs, biceps/triceps, shoulders, chest, back, and then day six will depend. The shoulder routine I've been doing is actually something RockRaines posted on here forever ago: I try to very things up too by adding some steering wheel lifts, dumbell single-arm presses, etc.

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Oct 1, 2013 -> 12:51 PM) A big part of this is what kind of body style do you have...and you sound like an ectomorph. I wish I could tell you this is going to be easy, but it's not. To put on muscle, you're going to need to start lifting massive weight in compound fashion, IE, lots of lifts that use BARbells (NOT dumbbells). Then, so long as you're eating about 0.70 grams of protein per body pound, you should be getting more than enough protein. For most people, I'd tell .60, but with that bodytype, I'm going to go ahead and say you might need a bit more. Oh, and wide arm pullups are your friend, they are what will assist you in gaining that \/ shape. See, that's the thing. I'm not really sure I am an ectomorph. It's not impossibly hard for me to put on muscle, and I have pretty good definition. I think the lankiness is primarily due to my height. And in general, my workouts for so long haven't been geared to building muscle, but more towards general strength and improved conditioning. The only real area I've really struggled to get bigger is in my shoulders.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Sep 22, 2013 -> 11:54 PM) Outer tie rod end on my front passenger side tire snapped on me the other day. Thank God that it happened in a parking garage and not on the highway or something. Looks to me like the ole' Murder Mobile (96 Lincoln Mark VIII) is about ready to be put away for good...which means I am car shopping for the first time ever. It's exciting, yet daunting. Looking at Jeep Grand Cherokee's specifically. Debating on whether to buy used or perhaps lease a new one. Any tips/suggestions? Anyone?

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Oct 1, 2013 -> 09:29 AM) Highlighted... Why, and why? I'm asking this in a serious fashion, too. People tend to get suckered into all of these supplements and diet ideas, when most of it's not necessary. But first, I'd need to know more about you, your lifestyle, your body type, how much you eat, what you eat, etc. I realize this is a lot of questions, but in order to answer what you asked, the person answering needs to know a LOT of information, otherwise, all they'll be doing is telling you what works for them, which will undoubtedly NOT work for you. To the first bolded text, how much natural protein are you ingesting with your normal diet? Are you a vegetarian? If you're already eating meat/eggs/dairy multiple times per day, odds are you don't need ANY protein supplement unless you're a 250 pound bodybuilder with an over the top hollywood physique. Are you trying to drop body fat? That's fine to use protein powders in order to get fat free/carb free protein, otherwise ... why? Second, see the first. Why? Are your goals to blow up and get bodybuilder huge? I suggest eating a banana pre-workout, maybe a little coffee, but preferably just water, and not much else. Most of this is gimmick that's designed to empty your pockets, and serves as more of a placebo on your workout than anything else. Unless you're getting to the gym, dog tired and unable to do anything, why do you need all of these pre-workout artificial boosts? And IF that is the case, maybe you should ask yourself why you're lethargic in the first place, as you may have other issues. QUOTE (Reddy @ Oct 1, 2013 -> 10:48 AM) ^^ Well, to answer your numerous questions: I'm 6'6, 207 at this very moment (age 24). I was about 250 pounds (not much was muscle) about two years ago and decided to get my life back in order after college. My first goal was to get back to 199 pounds (which I was at my senior year of high school when I was playing baseball) and I achieved that this March. I realized that I had dropped my body fat% down a ton but I had become very lanky (easy to do at 6'6). My goal right now is to get to about 215 and maintain that weight. Still want to drop my body fat % but put on some muscle to fill out my frame. I am NOT a vegetarian (because that's silly nonsense). I eat eggs or chicken at least once a day, plus other meats, so I do get a fair amount of protein but I want to bulk up and my metabolism is relatively high. My caloric intake is probably not what is should considering I work out 5-6 times a week and I'm a big guy as it is.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Sep 30, 2013 -> 05:57 PM) No, let's just stick our head in the sand and pretend Handzus is a legit #2 C, and give Bowman a pass for it and Q a pass for not trying Pirri there, or putting Sharp back at C. But, thanks for bringing something to the table. Pirri has the offensive ability, but he's inconsistent and he's lazy defensively, plus I'm not sure how he would fare at the dot against NHL centers. I wouldn't want to hand him the keys to the second line yet. Am I surprised he didn't make the roster? Sure. But he's still got some work to do. He'll be a regular in this lineup soon enough unless he's used in a trade. Hayes also has a lot to prove this season. People like to think he's a big power forward because of his size, but he's really not. Hopefully it's something he can incorporate into his game more. He'll crash the net, but he's not necessarily a guy you plop in front of the goalie. Also, I'm bummed to see the Hawks lose Ryan Stanton to the Canucks. He's one hell of a d-man. Stanton > Brookbank. And in case you don't know much about Joakim Nordstrom, think poor man's Marcus Kruger. Very similar players. If I was running the team, Smith-Kruger-Morin is my 4th line. Damn good defensive abilities (especially Smith/Krugs) and a lot of scoring potential.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Sep 28, 2013 -> 07:25 PM) About to head off to see Prisoners. Heard it was really good. Phenomenal movie. One of the best I've seen in a long time. Ridiculously suspenseful and tremendous acting. Go see Prisoners. Go see Prisoners, YESTERDAY.
