  2. I know, I know. No need to start another debate. This tragedy could have been averted, somehow, if only more people had guns. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070420/ap_on_...a_evacuation_14 Man kills self, hostage at NASA building
  3. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 20, 2007 -> 03:59 PM) So today I took the day off of work and stayed home with Madison. We re-watched the no hitter, and I taught her how to boo Sammy Sosa. I am the best dad ever.
  4. QUOTE(Texsox @ Apr 20, 2007 -> 04:02 PM) They orta do that one because the Oscar Gamble statue will cost double because the hair will need a second statue. Pound for pound, that Wilbur Wood statue is gonna set them back some too.
  5. I think the Carlos May statue is the next to be done. They'll save money by only needing to cast one thumb.

  7. Dana, I loves ya, but the power orange Nancy Reagan ensemble isn't cutting it. Black is definitely your color.
  8. So, how did Abu G do at today's hearing? -CNN’s Dana Bash: CNN’s Suzanne Malveaux: 45!! Sen. Tom Coburn (R-OK) to Gonzales: You should resign. Tough crowd, eh Gonzo?
  9. Just seems crazy expensive to build a full on transit tunnel when an oil pipeline would suffice.
  10. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 19, 2007 -> 11:19 AM) I'm poor, so sue me! What's the point, you're poor?

  12. QUOTE(ExpatNYC @ Apr 19, 2007 -> 09:17 AM) I stupidly ponied up for Spring Training, when there wasn't as much stress on their servers--fewer connections, fewer games. And my experience in the first two weeks of the regular season was horrible-- That is invariably my experience. ST feeds are fine and then it goes to cr@p when the regular season begins. A couple of seasons ago it was the worst because for some reason they decided to wait until the first day of the season to migrate between the old RealPlayer standalone application feeds and their new embedded Flash shell. Everything worked great through ST and then it came crashing down for Mac OSX users on opening day. As it is now I'm only getting Gameday Audio to stream on XP and still no joy on MacOS.
  13. Just imagine how much worse the feeds and the service would have been if Comcast hadn't inked an 11th hour deal for Extra innings and everybody not on DirectTV was counting on those feeds. Fortunately I waited on getting mlbTV and didn't pony up before cable got the extra Innings package back, but at the beginning of each of the last 3 seasons I have had to email multiple times and wait on the phone forever to try getting Gameday Audio issues issues resolved. It was exactly that experience that convinced me I didn't want to have to count on MLB for video feeds as well.
  14. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 09:45 PM) Haha, I find myself using a lot of Gob phrases. "I've made a huge tiny mistake" and "COME ON!" especially. When my kids ask me for a handout I like to tell them 'There's always money in the frozen banana stand.' They are 7 and 9 so they just look at me like, 'What the fock are you talking about?!'

  16. QUOTE(SnB @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 12:43 PM) The best running gag was the chicken dance, I thought. "Chickens don't clap!" My favorite running gags involved Tobias - his condition as a chronic Nevernude and his life as a failed actor, etc.
  17. QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Apr 17, 2007 -> 04:41 PM) I think New York is uniquely American. I think Paris is uniquely French. I think Montreal is somewhere in between. Dude, buy a friggin' map.
  18. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Apr 17, 2007 -> 10:16 AM) Well, if you were reading BC or Wizard of Id you had problems already. I already voiced my opinion that Johnny Hart's best work on BC was almost 30 years ago. And I'd say Id peaked about 10 years after that. So, as inconsequential as both of those strips were in recent years, it will likely be that much worse when family members take over the creative roles.
  19. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Apr 17, 2007 -> 12:18 AM) You can only hope. When he's out of office it will already be four years too late.
  20. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Apr 17, 2007 -> 12:37 AM) This makes no sense to me. If something looks like domestic violence, you don't expect the shooter to go on a carefully thought-out killing spree in a classroom building. There's just no connection. (Assuming, of course, that this is the same guy.) Agreed, there was no indication that the shooter wasn't going to stop with the domestic incident. Domestic shootings like the first incident seemed to be are, sadly, not uncommon. But how many of those develop into a random murder spree such that the authorities here could have predicted it?
  21. QUOTE(Texsox @ Apr 16, 2007 -> 11:15 PM) Even not doing something, is doing something. If you choose not to decide you still have made a choice?? Keep it in the Geddy Lee thread,buddy.
