NY Times calls for Attorney General's dismissal.
FlaSoxxJim replied to Rex Kickass's topic in The Filibuster
QUOTE(Balance @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 01:39 PM) Well, it hasn't worked yet. It won't work until Gonzales is out of a job, and Rove is indicted. It has been said before, but cutting Gonzo loose woll be, sadly, little more than putting lipstick on this ugly, vile pig of an administration. Still, it's good to see Leahy and Specter are not going to accept "I don't remember" 60+ times as acceptable testimony. -- ". . . we ask that you promptly supplement your testimony of April 19 with answers to those questions for which you responded that you could not recall or did not know." It won't matter, but thanks for at least trying to hold Abu accountable. -

So it goes. New evidence is emerging that the Justice Department fired the U.S. attorney in Arizona, Paul Charlton, for investigating a land deal involving Rep. Rick Renzi (R-AZ). I mis-spoke earlier. It's not that I am past the point of caring. It is that I am past the point of believing any new revalations would be enough to make Gonzales and the White House think they need to be accountable for anything. Nobody will be shocked if/when these allegations are shown to be true, which is unbelievably sad. -

Continued thanks for keeping my friend Brian in your thoughts. I just got an update and he came through the 3-hour surgery well yesterday. The doctors needed 7 clips to clamp off the aneurysm, which they described as “huge.” He’s going to be kept heavily sedated for all of today, only bringing him up to check vitals. So far, so good. Again, thanks for the good thoughts. This is a great person and a good friend and we need him around for a good long time.

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 01:31 AM) It depends more on what type of poop you produce. Certain types require more wiping. All of which will be the focus of a merit badge activity centered around Chili Night, right Tex?

Crazy game. Glad it's done.

QUOTE(Jimbo @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 01:06 AM) Funny story, having gone to over 30 royals games, i asked why do you guys just chant "lets go royals" and never really stop. The response, we chant it as long as we can, unitl something good happens. the logic of someone from kansas city. That's funny, because – and I know I'm going to hell for saying this – looking at the Royals fans in the stands the last two games I think they all look like the rode the short bus to the park.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 09:11 PM) So, it's time to link some more fun to this story. One of the fired attorneys is David Iglesias, the guy who was illegally called by a Republican Senator to try to bring pressure on him to bring cases favorable to the Republican election efforts. Yesterday, it was announced that an investigation had begun into Karl Rove, for potentially having advised government employees to do things specifically benefiting one party, including some of the U.S. attorneys. The man who it seems tipped off the Office of Special Counsel about Mr. Rove's actions? David Iglesias, who filed a Hatch act complaint with the Feds about Mr. Rove. Iglesias apparently doesn't know how to take it lying down and not make waves like a Loyal Bushie is supposed to do. Good for him. I still worry that the OSC investigation led by the already-under-investigation Scott Bloch will just end up being a whitewash job. But like I said, I don't think any of the Top Goons are going anywhere because Bush is stubborn to the point of shooting his administration and his party in the foot rather than making necessary changes that lawmakers and American citizens on both sides are calling for. W is not content to merely go down in history as the worst president in US history. He wants to outdo the rest of the pack by an order of magnitude. And at this on thing at least, he is proving wildly successful. -
QUOTE(mumbles3k @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 08:41 PM) Here's a simple question: Will the Sox be wearing throwback uniforms for 70's Night on 5/25? If so, which ones? Also, does anyone else find it fitting that 70's Night will be held on the 30th anniversary of the release of STAR WARS, which is quite possibly the quintessential 70's movie? Thanks. Don't know if throwback uniforms are planned, but I know it's a Miller Lite hat giveaway night. If they're doing the '77 Hitmen hats and not the red script hats then I'm counting on someone here to get one for me. 30 years ago for Star Wars. Dang I'm older than dirt. I remember the release weekend because it was the weekend of my 10th birthday and I wanted so badly to see Star Wars. Alas, my folks bailed when they saw the lines stretching around the block, and I had to wait a month to see it.

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 02:10 PM) Its about Dem CANDIDATES, not just for Dems to discuss. Everyone is invited! Same with the other thread! Its just that the primaries make more sense to be party-specific, when discussing the candidates. Ew. Yeah, I know. But his snowball had a better chance in hell than Kucinich's.
