Congress also as not privy to the opinions of a lot of military strategists who were damn well aware that "flowers and candy" were apparently code words for "foment a sectarian bloodbath" and that plans for stabilizing Iraq after the fall of Saddam were entirely nonexistent. "They all do it" is a cute mantra, right up there with "It's the liberal media's fault" and "Somehow this is the fault of Clinton's Penis." "They had the same intelligence," on the other hand, is utter bull$hit. They had the intelligence that BushCo wanted them to have, and the intelligence that made the best case for going to war whether it was quality intel or not, and the intelligence that painted the most hopelessly optimistic predictions for success to the exclusion of a substantial body of contrary expert views. I wish a whole lot less of Congres was duped, absolutely. Of course, I wish that about the American populace as well.

I am thoroughly disgusted at the Dems for caving. Balta, you had it right a month ago - on the heels of the first veto they should have authorized funding through July only and then cut it off if it became evident no progress was being made.

Bobby has been quiet and sullen since coming back from his job in Canada. And he's obviously stewing in his own juices over Tony making him kill somebody, exactly the same way Tony resented his father for doing it to him. I think Baccala is going to become pivotal here at the end – maybe to the point of flipping on Tony or even helping set him up for the NY Family. I hope there's time to have his relationship with Uncle Junior come up again and help tie up both of those plot threads, but that may be asking too much.

I'd love to have seen this. The way DJ described it it must have been a scream. AJ is one of a kind.
