  1. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 11:40 AM) Good point. Seriously, Jimmy Carter, post-presidency, has done more for our country then almost any other "ex-president". He's been brilliant when called upon. He's a great ambassador. Bite your tongue. The X-Presidents KICK ASS!
  2. QUOTE(Texsox @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 11:06 AM) I still have it on VHS somewhere. It's soo painful to watch 20 years later.
  3. QUOTE(Texsox @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 10:54 AM) I think any reasonable person drawing up an energy policy or plan should interview people in the industries. Not only the oil people, but wind farmers, nucleeahyr, solar, natural gas, etc. The potential sinister stuff is how that information is used or abused. It was sinister on the first place to not level with the public on who was being consulted.
  4. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 10:58 AM) Interesting Fact of the day: More than 2/3 of the world's households obtain their water from outside the house. Wow. Staggering Number. And the remaining 1/3 apparently have private lakes or aquifers inside their house from which they draw their water. . .
  5. QUOTE(timotime @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 09:29 AM) if i wasnt a sox fan i would hate it. but i cant turn away. ^^^^ Gotta download it for the archives.
  6. QUOTE(The Critic @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 10:26 AM) "I'm missing a hole where the piano has been And into it I'm stumbling...... Where did Paul goooooooooo.........."
  7. QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 02:22 AM) Executives from big oil met with Cheney aides while developing national energy policy. They recently denied this at the hearings, maybe they should have been under oath. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/conte...5111501842.html more at link I wonder why the GOP Congress declined to make them testify under oath. No, actually I don't. I'm very much AGAINST any windfall tax on US oil companies, because it is a potential disincentive to produce from existing domestic sources and would likely lead to greater dependence on foreign sources. BUT, the cloak-and-dagger approach the administration and Big Oil took in drafting American energy policy favorable to their needs is utter B.S. Cheney should have been subpoenaed and forced to come clean about all of this three years ago.
  8. Well what do you know, looks like Fitzmas is back on.
  9. QUOTE(Goldmember @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 10:33 AM) Duet for One /looked it up... SOB was what the judges were looking for, and the judges were unaware of such a scene in Duet For One. The judges only remember Duet for One pretty much sucked except for Julie Andrews performance.
  10. QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 10:23 AM) Troublemaker alert... :rolly SOB. Very good! Julie Andrews Trivia Score Board Steff: 1 Julie Andrews Ghey Legions: 0
  11. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 10:17 AM) I cheated... I just went Beatles I won't tell.
  12. QUOTE(Texsox @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 09:57 AM) Jim, can I come over and watch it with you . . . Yes, but you have to dress like a Von Trapp.
  13. QUOTE(Soxy @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 10:13 AM) About half of my female friends in college were lesbians--does that count? And, by the way, I love Julie Andrews. I think she's awesome. I am all for Julie Andrews day. Trivia: Name the film featuring a scene with a bare-chested Julie Andrews.
  14. QUOTE(Soxy @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 10:11 AM) Who gets the guff? The "sinless" ones that throw the first stone. The ones would would rather tell you that you're going to hell before turning the other cheek. BINGO! And that fishy thing on our cars. . . IKBIC®
  15. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 09:53 AM) Oh yeah you think you all are funny now, but when Paul comes across the universe, looking for you all here there and everywhere, and then comes through the bathroom window with Maxwell's silver hammer to take out the fool on the hill, you'll be wishing you could get back to where you once belonged. Dig it? Two of those titles don't belong, but which two?? Tick... tock... P.S. A certain package is going off in today's mail. . .
  16. QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 12:15 AM) yeah...but when he barks....it's a sarcastic bark.
  17. QUOTE(knightni @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 12:30 AM) In the Green Dog thread... That's DEEP man... PA!
  18. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 02:48 AM) Macs used to have these back in the day. (I assume they still do, but I haven't used one in 8 years or so) Stickies. I used to leave all sorts of "naughty" notes on my friends' dad's computer. I loved getting him in trouble. Mac has actually eleveted Stickies to be one of the included dashboard Widgets on Tiger OS.
  19. I'm a gate crasher but I think I have all of you beat on this one. I actually ponied up and bought the 2 disc 40th anniversary edition of the Sound of Music that just came out yesterday. I almost started a poll on SL&P about it yesterday to see if the concensus was that the puchase suggested I was less than a real man, too cool to worry about what anybody thinks, or somewhere in the middle. My wife detests musicals and has already stated in no uncertain terms that she will NOT be watching it woth me this weekend. OK, back to the ghey.
  20. QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 09:57 PM) Yah, I was just shoveling for 45 minutes and its only half done. Shoveling, what is that? I had to take a marine ecology class out in the field this weekend, and I got a sunburn.
  21. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 09:30 PM) So basically when we all joked about Cheney and company running the White House at the beginning, it was true? Sounds like it. And I didn't tink we were joking.
  22. In an effort to avoid the NYT and all the Right sees as wrong with it, I'll add some material from the much more wingnut-friendly Washington Times. As contributer Hunter from the Dailykos says, "The Washington Times would generally rather print their papers on the desiccated skins of puppies than say something bad about a Republican, but they'll print a scoop when they see one." Relayed from AmeriBlog, it sounds like the President is starting to fray at the ends:
  23. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 04:31 PM) OK, FlaSoxxJim, et. al. The Dallas show is this Sunday. I'm stoked. I can't wait!! I've read this thread like 15 times now... wondering what the show will be like here. I can't wait to hear the review. I wish I was going to see him again. Now that he actually has done the space station wake up song live, I bet he'll mention that. I've seen a few reviews during of other shows on the tour and they've all been quite glowing. he's mixed some songs uup here and there to keep things interesting, but the core setlist has remained pretty intact. Have fun!
  24. QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 04:16 PM) Steely Dan? You betcha
  25. When Black Friday comes I'll stand down by the door And catch the grey men when they dive from the fourteenth floor When Black Friday comes I'll collect everything I'm owed And before my friends find out I'll be on the road When Black Friday falls you know it's got to be Don't let it fall on me
