  1. Huckabee converts a press gaggle to gun control (and by that I mean taking the gun out of Huck's hands) http://weblogs.chicagotribune.com/news/pol...trol_probl.html
  2. So which Presidential candidate would you want to have a beer with? I pick Mitt Romney. He's mormon, and therefore does not drink. So I would get both beers. Your choice?
  3. Why do you want that squirrel Jim? All he'll do is drink all your beer? Then you'll have no beer and a very drunk squirrel. And god knows what he'll confuse for acorns. You just don't wanna go there. Trust me.
  4. Edwards will endorse Obama before Clinton. In fact, with the exception of Richardson, any other pres. candidate is gonna throw their support to the not Hillary option.
  5. Why was that the first thing I thought of too? I need a break from politics.
  6. At the same time, he's been completely paralyzed with his agenda and his attempts at trying to play the peacemaker hasn't quite worked out so well. North Korea's about face has more to do with Bill Richardson than George Bush, Iran's about face might have more to do with Russia than anything else too.
  7. It's on Drudge right now. It probably is real, and probably first thing in the morning and without makeup. Funny how in the right light people can look so deflated.
  8. Ted Kennedy on the floor of the Senate today. Waits for Chappaquiddick to be dusted off.
  9. Hillary. Perhaps after she ate Madeline Albright.
  10. That looks like he had a barca lounger surgically implanted into his body.
  11. That's been done with SCHIP and Stem Cells. And exactly what got accomplished?
  12. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Dec 14, 2007 -> 01:48 PM) As time as passed, I have come to this school of thought. It seems that everytime something comes out it is connected back to the Clinton camp somehow. Even if they do have something big, it would be easy for Obama to sell it as another Hillary Smear Job. I'm going to go out on a limb here and make a prediction. Obama represents a new direction in American politics... one that finally moves away from the partisan rancor that has defined the last 15 years. Whether or not he represents it in action or deserves to represent it is irrelevant, that is what his campaign has become. If he steamrolls through February, he becomes the President in waiting IMO. Unless there's something huge, and I doubt there is (for a pres candidate, he's been pretty forthcoming about his faults - including recreational drug use), I just don't think anyone can derail him.
  13. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Dec 14, 2007 -> 08:18 AM) Agreed, Balta. What will be interesting is if the nuclear bomb comes out of the closet in the next 3-5 days. If something's going to happen, it will be today, I would think, so the Sunday talk shows could start carpet bombing for Clinton. There is no nuclear bomb. She can't set it off without destroying herself. Everytime a trial balloon gets lifted, someone from the Clinton campaign resigns. I think the dynamic of the campaign is currently such that any negative campaigning reflects poorly on the attacker, not the attacked - especially when it comes to Obama.
  14. More from your Religion of Peace. http://www.nypost.com/seven/12122007/news/...slim_381263.htm
  15. You have some gallbladder bringing that up.
  16. QUOTE(Texsox @ Dec 10, 2007 -> 08:26 AM) Learn Spanish, to teach English, in Korea? Obviously!
  17. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Dec 9, 2007 -> 08:38 PM) Hopefully in Seoul and not in Pyongyang right? Yes, I like to eat food, not tree bark.
  18. I think I would like Rosetta Stone for Spanish. And a new job. Maybe teaching English. In Korea.
  19. If you want to go negative, you have about 8 days left to do it before Christmas gets in your way.
  20. There's not a lot of compassion in his conservatism, at least back then. Of course, asked a couple weeks ago about gay marriage and his opposition to it, he did basically insinuate that American society wouldn't be able to survive gay marriage.
  21. I think the wording is more to do with full disclosure. If Dan Rather had made a disclaimer akin to the Statesman's on the TANG records of Bush, he wouldn't have lost his Evening News anchor gig.
  22. QUOTE(YASNY @ Dec 8, 2007 -> 12:29 PM) Shingo couldn't have been pitching too well. He was released not long after losing the closers role. He was released because he refused to go to the minors.
  23. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Dec 7, 2007 -> 12:51 PM) Small point, but didn't Shingo actually start 2005 as our closer? Then he became in-effective and we moved Hermanson in? Then when he got hurt we moved in Jenks? If I remember, Shingo was all the rage in 2004, leading us to being very comfortable in the closer spot. Yes, although it seemed as though Shingo had gotten the kinks out when he got sat for Herm, who was just pitching out of his mind. It wasn't that Shingo was pitching all that badly when he got replaced - it was that Herm was pitching that well, no?
