Actually Tex, if you work an hour - in most states (even on commission) you are required to earn at least $5.15 an hour. Especially at a job like this. It appears this company is breaking the law. I actually interviewed with Grassroots Campaigns in November for a field director job. The $2,000 a month salary thing? That's for the people who run the office. They're supposed to be a "for profit-ish" company, if I remember correctly. A for profit company that works for non profit organizations of a specific political persuasion. Now, this may not be the company policy - but rather the policy of the office managers who are cutting hours and people's pay illegally to look better to their bosses. In either case, its really wrong - and the company ought to fix it or lose its contract.

Anyone remember France denying flyovers?
Rex Kickass replied to EvilMonkey's topic in The Filibuster
France is doing nothing according to the article cited. -
What about Adventures in Babysitting? They basically dangle off the James Thompson Building at one point.

I went to the gym and lifted weights on Tuesday. I did bicep curls and a little more than I've done in the past. I felt the burn when I was lifting but it wasn't unbearable. Wednesday morning, I woke up and my arms were sore! Around the elbow where they usually get sore, especially the left one. It hurt to straighten my arms out. Yesterday, the pain got a little worse on the right and a lot worse on the left. I Icy Hotted both arms overnight. Today, the soreness is fading in my right arm but any arm movement on my left still kills. The pain yesterday seemed centered just above my left elbow, today it seems centered just below it. Did I strain, pull, tear a muscle or three? Or am I just "normal sore" from working out harder than I thought I did?

Did you know that after two years, 10% of your pillow's weight consists of your dead skin and the microscopic organisms that feed of it.

Latest poll out of Rhode Island show Moderate Republican Lincoln Chafee losing to his right wing opponent in the primary 51-34. If he loses the primary, should he run as an independent? Should Joe Lieberman speak on his behalf? Or should he honor the wishes of his party?

Olbermann talked about the speech last night on "Countdown" and said that the administration comparing itself to Churchill's British government was a misnomer. Their tendency to vilify any person who disagreed with administration policy in the war on terror is more similar to Neville Chamberlain's British government who did the very same thing - to Winston Churchill.

Ronald Reagan was never actually quoted as saying "Give Meese a chance."

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 29, 2006 -> 08:42 AM) Am I the only person left in the world who doesn't own an Ipod? Nope. I don't use these newfangled mp3 players, I use a NetMD MiniDisc walkman. It offers the convenience of a CD player with more music and complications! Oh yes the new random list of 10: Black Box Recorder - The Facts of Life Hard-Fi - Unnecessary Trouble Soul Coughing - How many cans? Nick Cave & Shane McGowan - What A Wonderful World dEUS - Nine Threads Bob Marley v Funkstar Deluxe - Sun Is Shining Brazillian Girls - Ships In The Night Supergrass - Nothing More Is Gonna Get In My Way Technotronic - Pump Up The Jam bis - Kill Yr Boyfriend

But that probably wouldn't have mattered with this particular crash. Most of the time, towers do not make visual confirmation of planes using the right runway to take off.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Aug 29, 2006 -> 06:06 PM) Gerry Rafferty, of Baker Street fame, was a founding member of Stealers Wheel. There is no apostrophy in the band's name. The word apostrophe has no "y" in it. It's also the name of a Frank Zappa album.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 29, 2006 -> 05:05 PM) Pittsburgh's football team spells its name the "Steelers". They are not thieves, but in fact, play in a city nicknamed the "Steel City" due to the amount of steel it produces. The band Stealers' Wheel has nothing to do with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

That article is amazing.

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 28, 2006 -> 05:59 PM) I cannot believe that I am the only one in here who has any classical, jazz or soundtrack music in their iPod. I do see one or two blues tracks, though. My jazz is mostly on vinyl. Although I had Bossa Nova in my list, thankyouverymuch

If he's psychologically confused and genuinely believes he committed the murder, how can you charge him with making a false statement? If you don't know you're telling a lie, are you really telling a lie - legally?

Depends on the poll. Zogby Interactive methodology isn't good, and the other CT polls are showing the race much closer - within four or five points. I also don't buy Webb's 1 point lead over Allen. Most of the others look similar to other polls.
-
Montana is a Senate race that isn't polled much either, and it's hugely competitive. If the local TV outlets or papers don't want to pay for the polling, it will get done very infrequently there.

The Wal Mart plaza is actually called "Lake Park Plaza." This reminds of me of the day the tornado blew through while I was on the air at WIMS.

I saved so much at 2.69 a gallon that I drove as fast as I could for as long as I could, just so I could save more!
