You're right, when I was a promotion director at a station with 70,000 listeners in Michigan we only valued the on-air mention at $55. I guess with 3 million listeners it wouldn't be worth anymore.

Peanut butter jelly time?

Attendance in December, honestly. I smell banning! Oh wait, wrong board.
-
Try paying for a live mention on a national network and see if you get it for less than a grand. Stern's last show was getting spot rates of 10,000 dollars for a 60 second time period. CBS is obviously cash desperate to ask for that much money for essentially nothing but air.

I did. I also started the thread. It wasn't meant to be political. But I guess we can't talk about the media without the same old b****fest about which party is better.

Yes what all us liberals represent. You don't have the first clue about what liberals represent. You really don't. Every time it tries to get explained about what a genuine conservative or liberal actually represents in this forum, it just gets shat on - because people would rather have their own opinion uncluttered by fact, or perspective. And that's fine. And it goes for both sides. Nobody listens because it gets in the way of their pissing match. It's sad really.

:rolly Yeah, that's exactly what liberals do. Honestly, no wonder a lot of people here don't want to talk politics. People whine about there being too many polemics on the board but can't help throwing around crap like that. And YAS, its not just you. -Thread moved-

It's always gotta be an argument with you doesn't it. I just thought that was interesting. I think polls - are mostly - full of s***.

No scarier than staying in an actual Hostel. There you get to literally fear for your life!

The only downside to all this kickassness is that it means the end for the "Old Roman Upgrades" I always used to give myself.

QUOTE(YASNY @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 06:06 AM) It happened on Clinton's watch. It was his responsibility to respond. If Bush had responded two+ years after the fact you would have screamed bloody murder. I'll tell you something, in all honesty. The rhetoric you guys put out here has about driven me to the point that I won't even consider voting for any democrat for any office. If messageboard rhetoric is what influences your vote, maybe its best that you just stay home on election day.

And the Chicago News Service.

QUOTE(WCSox @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 12:30 PM) Air America wants $250 for a freaking bumper sticker, a tote bag, and "special mention." Sorry, but that's pathetic. At least O'Reilly and Rush sell products and services for a reasonable price. And the profits of most of O'Reilly's products go to charity. How much has Air America donated to charity? They are selling something different than O'Reilly. They are selling passion and ownership in what its fans see as a "movement." You may call it pathetic, I call it - and most bottom line folk in the communications industry see it as "maximizing revenue."

Sean Hannity has as much experience as Rush Limbaugh. None. He hosted a talk show. Olbermann hosted Sportscenter. They are both about equally qualified from what I can figure.

Saved By The Bell: The College Years was great, wasn't it?

2016 Michigan City games. All the swimming events in Lake Michigan! Torch in the pothole by the 30 yard line at Ames Field! -
Fun bit of trivia. After Clinton got impeached, his approval ratings skyrocketed over 70%.

QUOTE(Soxy @ Dec 29, 2005 -> 08:59 PM) Find a new apartment that doesn't suck and does not involve a roommate. Make good financial decisions. I'm lookin for a roommate ya know.

QUOTE(WCSox @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 09:50 AM) Olbermann's a talking head who doesn't know anything about politics. He's Jon Stewart trying to do a serious news show. While Chris Matthews is a giant douchebag, at least he has a basic understanding of the field. :coughHillarycough: I think Olbermann is smarter than you think. And although he wears his politics on his sleeve, it's hardly any worse than anything you see on Fox. Quite the opposite, he usually goes the extra mile to make things balanced on his show - from what I've seen. His newscast is, in a lot of ways, a throwback to the way news used to be done.

That kid has some serious balls.

There's less poverty in Venezuela since Chavez took power in 1999. -
Chicago Turns Down Venezuelan Oil
Rex Kickass replied to LowerCaseRepublican's topic in The Filibuster
Damn the Venezuelans for not taking advantage of super high priced profits and instead offering to help those who need it. Oh and by the way, 200 a month would kinda be the cost of three monthly bus passes at 75 a month, right? Oh yeah, right. -
Damn right it was. I was no big fan of AAR. I thought that they were doomed to failure because of a horrid biz model. But they seem to have turned it around.

In teh spirit of the holidays, can anyone help me?
Rex Kickass replied to TheBigHurt's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I saw game 4 of the ALCS and it looks like someone taped over their wedding to rebroadcast the game. And I have crappy old LDTV. (Latter Day TV - the broadcasting future of the Mormons.)
