    Transformers..

It's the second movie. The Transformers already were a movie, starring Orson Welles - as I believe, Optimus Prime.
  4. This is the Democratic party that I belong to. When that changes, I'll probably leave the party again. But this is the party now. And I don't think its that radical.
  5. *hides his sparkly bracelets* Of course, not!
  6. QUOTE(Texsox @ Jul 14, 2005 -> 01:42 PM) Fortunately, they let me out after 20 minutes... turns out the latch in the door knob was broken.
  7. The communism line - a little too Dennis Methenyish for my tastes. Otherwise, nice letter.
  8. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 12:48 PM) Even if the war in Iraq were really an effort to get the Saudis to open their oil fields more or to give the U.S. more control or something like that, the fact is that there's really nothing more that the Saudis can do with their fields. Either that nation has peaked or it is very close to doing so. I don't have a good link on this, but a few months ago I read that earlier this year, in response to those soaring oil prices, the Saudis pledged to start pumping even more to release more oil onto the market. When the oil came out...it was NOT traditional cheap to refine Saudi Light Sweet Crude. It was heavy oil. Lots of Sulfur, etc. Not easy stuff to work with, expensive to refine, etc. If you really pay attention, the Saudi oil fields are something that should really concern you right now. Why? Several reasons. No one over here really knows what is left in the Saudi tank. They have been pumping on the same oil fields for decades. The water content in those oil fields is rising dramatically. They haven't had a major discovery of a new field in decades. They have invested likely trillions of dollars in these sciences to try to extract every drop humanly possible from those fields. And if they can't extract more of it, if they even are closing in on their production peak, then there's really nothing that is going to come on line to reverse that trend. Right now, there is simply nothing out there which can replace Saudi production. It just isn't there. The reason that the fields are so damaged is because the Saudi government decided rather than upgrade facilities, they'd help temporarily make it easier to pump oil by injecting salt water. Although after a while, it makes much of the oil much dirtier.
  9. I honestly don't think that the Democratic party in action is really not moderate. They voted - for the most part - for the Bankruptcy Bill. They want to preserve Social Security rather than privatize it. They want to preserve Medicare so it doesn't go bankrupt in 20 years and in the process increase health care availability to those who can't afford it. They want to preserve the filibuster rules and protect the minority in the Senate. They want the administration to be held accountable and provide requested information in relation to appointments to diplomatic corps and the federal judicial bench. And they fight the other party a lot. There is debate on Iraq and the war on terror in the party, but by no means, has there been any consensus within the party. I don't see the Democrats working to make anything radical happen. But then again, I am biased. I wish they'd be more radical in a sense.
  10. Pro Lifers are Not going to abandon the Republican party.... And to be honest with you a more moderate Republican party would be good for America.
  11. I am currently locked in my apartment. I had to call work and tell them I would be late. Because I am locked IN my apartment.
  12. QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 05:45 PM) Yes. I think they sounded too much like other bands coming out at that time, to the masses. The lead singer(only member) was part of Trent Reznor's first band, Lucky Pierre. They were part of one the best concerts I ever attended. Prick Nine Inch Nails David Bowie At the World Music Center It was Incredible! Saw that show at Polaris Ampitheater in Columbus Ohio. Best show I'd seen... until I saw James Brown.
  13. Joe Wilson has nothing to do with this crime. He just happens to be the vehicle in which it was delivered. So whatever anyone thinks of Joe Wilson now doesn't matter. Even if you thought Wilson was "worse than Hitler," it doesn't make leaking classified information to discredit a political campaign any less stupid or unethical.
  14. I am in love with: Ted Leo and the Pharmacists - "Shake the Sheets" Raveonettes - "Pretty in Black" Skinnerbox - "What you can do and what you can't" Junior Senior - "C-c-c-an't Stop The Beat" and the following songs: Caviar - "Tangerine Speedo" Gorillaz - "Feel Good, Inc." Zita Swoon - "Me and Josie on a Saturday Night"
  15. QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 03:02 PM) You are talking my language. Some of the best of that Genre. Great stuff! KMFDM, Thrill Kill Kult, Rev Co... Where's the love for Pigface, Einsturzende Neubauten, and Front 242's masterpieces - "Up Evil" and "Off"?
  16. There's a definite history to poor treatment of Pakistanis in British society. It's even been the focus of recent British literature. Like "The Black Album" by Hanif Kureishi. And now that they're pretty sure that the bombers were Pakistani, it probably will only get worse. I've often what makes the change happen from terror and fighting to rapprochement and normalization of relations. In Northern Ireland, the UK certainly didn't break the back of the IRA for example - yet over time, the fight kind of withered.
  17. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 08:55 AM) I think you may have a point. The Stuff is a fun flick. I know I have seen Death Spa, but I forget almost everything but the video box cover! Any movie about hypnotic dessert toppings discovered oozing out of the ground by toothless hillbillies has got to make my top ten of all time.
  18. Also, does the deficit take into account supplementary spending like Iraq/Afghanistan? Just curious because that would bring that number inching back up to 400 billion dollars.
  19. Gotta get on the gravy train somehow, eh?
  20. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 11:08 PM) Maybe so...but it ain't no Bring It On!!!! For those playing along at home...this is sarcasm without the faithful colors. Call me a rebel, but I am breaking the color barrier for once. Both pale in comparison to "The Stuff" or "Death Spa."
  21. FWIW, Here's a quote from Tim Russert on the Today Show.
  22. I'm lucky to be in New Jersey. Eminent Domain has been a big deal out where I live for a long time... and being an election year, a lot of Dems are trying to make themselves look better by trying to restrict eminent domain rights of municipalities. There's movement on the New Jersey level, and its my assemblymen that are behind it no less. If you care about this issue, petition your alderman, legislator, state senator to take it up. Because its the only way to see it saved.
