  1. When the bigger goal is more of the same mistakes, someone oughta get fired. In my company - if the CEO were to get elected, would that mean that everyone who stayed on the job would get to keep theirs regardless of what mistakes they made? If so, I wanna work there.
  2. Here was the Christmas joke I came up with: Do you know why they called it "Silent Night"?
  3. QUOTE(Cali @ Jan 16, 2005 -> 04:34 PM) For the longest time I though there lead singer was a girl, until I saw them on TV. I guess the singer just has his balls in a vice grip thats hidden very well on stage. As far as albums the only ones I know for sure are coming out: Strapping Young Lad "Alien" Queens of the Stone Age "Lullibies to Paralyze" He's actually Geddy Lee.
  4. Youre excited about "And they will know us by the length of our name"?
  5. Oh yeah, here's the outrage that nobody's talking about. Mike Chertoff, the new appointee for Homeland Security, perjured himself two years ago when he got his federal judgeship. So the new Bush cabinet has a perjurer and a torturer. I hear the new Secretary of Energy nominee crushes puppies too. http://www.nytimes.com/2005/01/13/politics...ed=1&oref=login
  6. Yeah, its popularity will last til the first A380 crash. If the Concorde's first crash 25 years into its run made it "too dangerous" to fly - what do you think the reaction is going to be the first time 500+ people pass on in some A380 air disaster?
  7. QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Jan 16, 2005 -> 09:34 AM) To ratify don't you need 2/3 of the vote not a simple majority? Anyway, I am honestly speechless at that. 51% of the vote is NOT overwhelming... Actually, if you want to split hairs, it wasn't even 51%. Try 50.7%. The people get the government they deserve. We reelected a president who never saw fit to hold anyone accountable for problems in Iraq, failure to prevent 9/11, and a whole host of other problems before the election. What made anyone think he would after the election? We voted for someone who'd rather think he's right than do the right thing. Weak and ineffective.
  8. He still didn't get the max tho, he was facing 17 years. Personally, I think he oughta suffer the same torture he subjected his prisoners to.

    Tenacious D

Saw them in concert. Was real entertaining, then I found out it was just the album basically word for word. I was a little disappointed.
  10. Prediction: Somehow, blood will go bad and Frank will enter the hall with a Washington Senators hat on. Somehow Jay Mariotti will be involved. It's really all part of the Sport Marty conspiracy. Honestly, though, I think Frank is gonna have a solid year. I'd like to see him get resigned with a contract that will have him start to move into a off the playing field position with the White Sox, keeping him IN the family after he retires.
  11. I say, bench clearing brawl would happen, and just with our players. We need more fighting in baseball. After all, look what it did for the XFL! Oh wait....
  12. Apparently they are taking money out of the Social Security insurance policy to advertise for privatization of Social Security. I guess you gotta spend money to save money? http://www.nytimes.com/2005/01/16/politics...print&position=
  13. I got 7 meters. Thats 21 feet baby!
  14. Actually, if you wanna get technical, the Brits knew about Auschwitz and what it did, well over a year before it was liberated. Most of this time, the allies had air superiority over that region and could have easily broken that camp apart - and saved hundreds of thousands of lives. Problem is that they really didn't care about the Jews that much. The callous reality was that the German Nazi anti-semitism was really just the active counterpart to latent European tendencies throughout the 20th century. Most historians were surprised that it happened in Germany rather than France, to be honest... but Anti-Semitism was a fairly popular semitism throughout Europe and the UK in the 19th and 20th centuries.
  15. QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Jan 15, 2005 -> 01:24 AM) http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/4174519.stm The US military investigated building a "gay bomb", which would make enemy soldiers "sexually irresistible" to each other, government papers say. Other weapons that never saw the light of day include one to make soldiers obvious by their bad breath and a weapon to simulate enemy flatulence. --A gay bomb? A...gay...bomb? A gay bomb? Wasn't that the movie Boat Trip?
  16. Get me a flight to L.A., a Bea Arthur name sticker and Steve Allen will lose a star. Consider it done. Now where's my ticket?
  17. QUOTE(Texsox @ Jan 14, 2005 -> 02:42 PM) Movie, series, or TV special? Do you have the complete series on DVD? I actually prefered her work on Maude and later her modeling career for photoshop pics. Maude was by far one of the funniest sitcoms of the 70s with Florida Evans (from Good Times) as the maid.
  18. So, what were we talking about? Oh yeah. What do you think the possibilities of a Golden Girls reunion are?
  19. QUOTE(mreye @ Jan 14, 2005 -> 02:11 PM) I can agree with that. I take Cosby's comment to be critical of the jesse Jacksons more than the black community. The JJs blame "whitey" first. Yes, "whitey" and "society" is a problem, but pointing fingers won't fix anything by itself. Change has to be made within the community in conjunction with "fixing" society. Yes because Jesse Jackson never did anything to help the black community apparently. He is. Nobody.
