Heres my side of the story: A long time ago, there were dinosaurs. Then they died out and other stuff happened, somebody said some stuff and then it got removed and everyone decided to eat pie. Apple pie with melted Cheddar Cheese on top. And it was good. Hope that clears it all up for you

I once made up my own word in German. Notwursten. Look it up in babelfish.

I've been using EasyNews lately. 20 gig of downloading space for like 7 bucks a month or something obscene. That and fluxblog.

I'd agree that Timo and Wee Willie are the most likely candidates for a trade... with Politte or Diaz being the most likely candidates on the pitching mound. I mostly wrote this to use the words Wee and Willie in the same sentence.

Of course this is assuming that the team actually contacted him. I don't like the guy either, but I don't make assumptions that owners always act in good faith. -
I don't like listening to the Silver Bullet band. I will however drink the Silver Bullet. Mmmmmmm. Beer.

Blech. Why?

Ed Farmer's disappearance for the booth would be a blessing for baseball fans everywhere.

Didn't they learn from the Misery of Super Bowl XVII in 1982 at the Pontiac Silverdome? And putting it in downtown Detroit? I hear the Punt Pass Kick contest is going to be changed to "Mug, Rob, Stab" *rimshot*

I'm always impressed by the number of people in this board who have very good alt rock, indiekid sensibilities. I always find a couple songs or bands I've never heard of and that are really good here.

I just wish they'd get rid of the 3rd inning interviews. Put me to sleep every time.

2005, Shingo=Superstar. Anyone who can throw a 50 mph pitch that looks like 85 mph heat and vice versa, is automatically one of my favorites.

Bringing in Steve Stone would be like a reverse Harry Carey, except we still have crappier TV distribution and instead of losing a hilarious drunk guy, we gain a smarmy ass who's play by play last year was most characterized by incessant whining about how it was anyone's fault but the Cub who made the mistake.

Once, I got my bosses order messed up at BK. She wanted a Whopper with everything but Mustard and Onions. So I got her a Whopper with just Mustard and Onions. She made me eat it. Damn, I had to eat a SECOND hamburger. I was so shamed.

He is not leading the objection. A Democratic Senator and a Democratic Congresswoman is leading the objection. The objection is over a Republican co-chair and his behavior while presiding over the Presidential Election in Ohio.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Jan 7, 2005 -> 12:45 AM) It didn't matter who they voted for, a DEM or GOP would be in charge of the election. That same person could be the campaign chairperson for a candidate?! Our system does make for some strange situations. You cared about Florida last time as well. If it had gone DEM, Gore for Four. So I think every American should have been interested and cared. I still think we have a lot of opportunity to make our elections better. So much technology is not being used. I like Texas' early election system. We have polling palces set up weeks before the election for early voting. Drop in, quick and easy. Except from what I read/heard, Blackwell did not release enough voting machines - aggravating already long lines while nearly 30 machines stood unused in Columbus alone, because they were never delivered to polling places. Also, from what I've read/heard, Blackwell did not allow a full hand recount in the state despite the fact that the 3% hand recount did not match the machine count and was required by state law. Also, from what I've read/heard, there are investigations ongoing in regards to actual vote tampering, with video evidence to back it up. Couple that, with a buggy e-voting system that covers nearly 1/3 of Ohio voters that does not have a paper trail. And you wounder why people had problems with voting in Ohio.

The Education Department apparently paid commentators to promote the No Child Left Behind act on their radio shows. Your taxpayer money going to fund radio and tv shows extoling our government's works. http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=stor...tortopromotelaw

QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jan 7, 2005 -> 01:06 PM) Obviously something was broken if something like this was allowed to happen. Measures needed to be taken and they were and despite all the "they're coming to take me away!" hysteria I think we're better off for it. Something like what? People playing with laser pointers means that the system is broken? Oh my, I saw someone running with scissors earlier today, somebody get me a warrant! This kind of approach is weak. Weak-minded. To use a sledgehammer when when a rubber mallet is required is weak-minded. To use an act like this for reasons from which it wasn't intended is weak. To have a "war" we're fighting without a comprehensive policy to fight it is weak. This is just another example of an administration that's weak where it counts, in the head.

Do you know how difficult it is to blind someone with a laser beam from several thousand feet through a refracting windshield? The answer is, pretty damn difficult. Even if one of the pilots would be temporarily physically blinded, there is a second person on board who can take the controls. There are also other guides and controls which can easily be used without sight to stabilize a plane. In 2002, there were over 50 separate incidents in the Las Vegas area of errant lasers "blinding" pilots from casino light shows. Why weren't the special effects directors given the same penalty? Pure and simple, this is a weak administration propping up a weak approach to a war on terror by strongly prosecuting someone with no connection to actual terror. It's the laser pointers we should be afraid of, not the frightening availability of shoulder fired anti-aircraft missiles. Weak.

Well, our President does want to start a guest worker program. However, you'll find it probably won't be used as effectively as it could because if you were to ever apply for this program, you'd effectively disqualify you from permanent legal immigration to the U.S.
