  1. I'm sorry, where have you seen "consulting Paris" in the democratic platform again? I'm just curious. I don't see that.
  2. No, i believe like many he wasn't. But then again he wasn't a spoiled rich kid who refuses to be responsible for his behavior before the age of forty either.
  3. I'm sorry, where was gay marriage on the Democrats' agenda? I missed that between a responsible foreign policy and creating jobs.
  4. So lets be clear: Alcoholic, alleged coke-head and general f**k up at the age of 30, acceptable for the presidency. Funny how John Kerry can fight for his country, fight again to make change for his country and do some things out of anger he now wishes he hadn't done is somehow worse. .
  5. little bit of a difference there dude. and thats f*g, but i quit smoking thanks.
  6. Nobody here did. But the more extreme wings of the Republican side have done the same with John Kerry. And Bill Clinton. And Al Gore. It's hardball is all.
  7. I was there last year. I've never seen that anywhere in Europe. Needle robberies sound like the old wives tale from the 80s about gang members murdering people who try to signal to them that their headlights were off. Amsterdam aint the safest place in the world, but it's no more dangerous than the average Chicago neighborhood.
  8. What do you call Purple Heart band-aids, turing French into a racial slur, calling Kerry a traitor, and making fun of someone's wife? Everyone does it to everyone. Stop whining about how the other side is so damn mean every time your guy gets some hardball thrown at him.
  9. Actually its a Kitty Kelley biography, so the accuracy is up for grabs. I'm just sharing for the world. This makes no difference to me anyway. I got my reasons to vote for who I'm voting for. It should make no difference to any other person who votes for the right reasons.
  10. The cocaine rumors have swirled around him. I don't know if I believe the Camp David stories... but the Coke rumors I heard four years ago are from around the time he was in the Guard.
  11. http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/allnews/tm_ob...-name_page.html BUSH 'TOOK COCAINE AT CAMP DAVID' Sep 6 2004 And wife Laura liked dope, says book By Emma Pryer GEORGE W Bush snorted cocaine at Camp David, a new book claims. His wife Laura also allegedly tried cannabis in her youth. Author Kitty Kelley says in her biography The Family: The Real Story of the Bush Dynasty, that the US President first used coke at university in the mid-1960s. She quotes his former sister-in-law Sharon Bush who claims: "Bush did coke at Camp David when his father was President, and not just once either." Other acquaintances allege that as a 26-year-old National Guard, Bush "liked to sneak out back for a joint or into the bathroom for a line of cocaine". Bush has admitted being an alcoholic but, asked during the 1999 election if he did drugs, he said: "I've told the American people that years ago I made some mistakes. "I've learned from my mistakes and should I be fortunate enough to become president I will bring dignity and honour to the office." Later an aide clarified his remarks saying Bush hadn't taken illegal drugs in the past 25 years. Kelley says that the Bush family covered up scandals because of their wealth and influence. She claims George W started drinking at school and continued at Yale university to overcome shyness. Former student Torbery George says in the book: "Poor Georgie. He couldn't relate to women unless he was loaded." Another says: "He went out of his way to act crude. It's amazing someone you held in such low esteem later became president." His supporters have slammed the allegations as outrageous. The White House said: "This book appears to be filled with the same trash discredited years ago."
  12. Ummm, I saw the result. Want the spoiler?
  13. Have you actually ever been to Amsterdam?
  14. Happy bday from the othe bday boy.
  15. Exactly right. The people who were in the boat with him back up his claims. There are many written histories about Vietnam that also back up his claims before the Senate committee in the early 1970s. In fact, the only time Swift Boat Vets for Truth Chief O'Neill served with Kerry was during an appearance on the Dick Cavett show.
  16. He still went. He could have gone into the Texas Air Guard just like our flightsuit in chief did.
  17. I think its apples and oranges. Kerry served his country faithfully in the war, was disillusioned and angry at what he saw and decided to do something to try to end that war. What's so dishonorable about dissent?
  18. Actually, if you're going to accuse Kerry of factually misrepresenting things before Congress in 1971, you should probably have the context. He accused nobody of doing anything other than what discharged vets admitted to doing themselves. Here's what he said in full context. "I would like to talk, representing all those veterans, and say that several months ago in Detroit, we had an investigation at which over 150 honorably discharged and many very highly decorated veterans testified to war crimes committed in Southeast Asia, not isolated incidents but crimes committed on a day-to-day basis with the full awareness of officers at all levels of command.... They told the stories at times they had personally raped, cut off ears, cut off heads, taped wires from portable telephones to human genitals and turned up the power, cut off limbs, blown up bodies, randomly shot at civilians, razed villages in fashion reminiscent of Genghis Khan, shot cattle and dogs for fun, poisoned food stocks, and generally ravaged the countryside of South Vietnam in addition to the normal ravage of war, and the normal and very particular ravaging which is done by the applied bombing power of this country." There are several different histories of what happened in Vietnam. Sadly, many of these back these claims up.
  19. Spinsanity is the shizznit. All the media hate it so it's gotta be doing something right.
  20. Nuke, You arent the typical neocon. You actually put your ass on the line. I could respect the movement a lot more if the ones with actual power were more like you rather than belittling opponents' military service to hide deferment after deferment. That being said, it still doesn't keep you from being wrong.
  21. This time it was on Sirius radio. From Drudgereport.com. Alan Keyes, the Republican candidate for a vacant U.S. Senate seat in Illinois, said Tuesday that Vice President Dick Cheney's daughter Mary is a "selfish hedonist" because she is a lesbian. His comments came during an interview with SIRIUS satellite radio. Keyes said: "The essence of ... family life remains procreation. If we embrace homosexuality as a proper basis for marriage, we are saying that it's possible to have a marriage state that in principal excludes procreation and is based simply on the premise of selfish hedonism." Asked whether that meant Mary Cheney "is a selfish hedonist," Keyes said: "That goes by definition. Of course she is."
  22. Here's the full quote "I don't think you can win it. But I think you can create conditions so that the . . . those who use terror as a tool are . . . less acceptable in parts of the world." Gee, that sounds like something very "sensitive." If Kerry had said this, how do you think the Bush camp would have reacted?
  23. When anyone miscommunicates, it doesn't matter. Appearances count.
  24. I remember four years ago wishing Bob Dole was running again. Seriously, what a farking embarrassment of a president. Leading a war he doesnt think we can win. That's steady leadership in times of change indeed.
