And here comes another inning.
-
3rd consecutive inning where we have the winning run in scoring position.
-
I just hope that when the white flag sale starts in July that Maggs stays. He's the future of this club - if we can keep him.

Interesting stats from the Tigers cast. Tig's bullpen fourth best ERA in AL. Konerko has now hit into Team Leading 11th DP of the year. Tigers in May 9-12, Sox, 7-15.

Living out of the Chicago metro area, I only get to see national televised games, WGN games and Tigers/Sox games. It's not that we lost that bothers me. I have seen us lose heartbreakers which have made me proud to be a Sox fan because we didn't quit. The few games thatI've caught on TV tell a different story. We get a lead and blow it because we got complacent... because the Sox were very obviously treating the Tigers as you would that mentally touched kid that tries really hard. They rolled over and let the Tigs win. Last year, the Tigers were a listless team. No talent, bad management and ownership, but no urge to compete. This year its a different story. They may be 24 games below .500 and they might have 100 plus losses this year, but they will come out a much better team next year, and may even have a shot at contending. Because they seem to care. This time I saw signs of life in the first 6. JG pitched well, not making many mistakes, only giving up three hits. Jose made some solid moves and even allowed a hit to prevent an extra base error that you know would have happened if he threw the ball spinning up his arm. But in the last three, the infield didn't seem to move at all to get ground balls within their reach... the outfield didn't seem to pay attention. We made stupid baserunning errors. My team didn't seem to care much at all. And if they don't care? Why should I? I'm still a Sox fan, but I'm a pissed off one tonight.
-
I'm pissed because I saw a team that just doesn't care. To be honest, I'd be OK with being a Tigers fan right now. They play crap, and only have 11 wins, but there is effort and heart there. They're playing every game like they are in contention and we look listless and barely breathing in the field. It's not that we don't convert opportunities, it just seems like we don't try to. What pisses me off is that JG did care and pitched really well, and we didn't support em. Why should I pay 20 bucks to see a team who obviously doesn't care if they win or lose?
-
s***ty ass team. I have to go now, I'm getting pissed.
-
Big Frank needs to come through. Big time.
-
Three huge defensive errors from the Tigers infield, and we can't convert. For once St JosE6 doesn't make the mistake of throwing away a spinning ball, but Crede does. Sigh.
-
I get the impression that we've been taking this game for granted. Los and the rest in the OF has just looked listless all night.
-
Motherf***er. 3-2 Tigs.
-
Maroth did have a no/no going into 8 a few weeks ago, and he pitched a CG loss to KC too. This guy just gets no run support.
-
This defense is f***ing pathetic. f***ing pathetic.
-
Mike Maroth is the best 0-9 pitcher I've ever seen.
-
Maybe he just really had to go to the bathroom
-
Inge rockets one to St JosE6 who makes the play to first. Infante to St JosE6, makes the play at first. Kingsale to StJosE6, makes the play at first. 1-0 SOX after 2.5, no hits for tigers.
-
PK flies out at the track. I think there is something up with his hip, hes running funny and even slower than usual it seems. Crede grounds out to third. Borchard bounces out to short. After two innings 1-0 SOX.
-
You're still missing the real story, Carlos Lee fouled the ball into his crotch. That's a web gem!
-
Young draws a walk. Pena broken bat FCs to Graff, Young out at second. Monroe Ks. nice pitch. Witt backs one to the track, fly out. 1-0 after 1 1/2
-
Graff leadoff single St JosE6 FCs, Graff out at 2nd (should have been a DP) Big Frank FCs, Valentin out at 2nd (should have been a base hit, stupid good defense) Maggs launches a double to the wall, Thomas scores. Lee fouls off into his package and then two hops to third. After 1, 1-0 SOX.
-
Carlos fouled himself off into his nuts. Ouch!
-
Mags bringing the offense - nice double. 1-0 SOX. Yes!
-
Kingsale bunts to Garland, tagged out on first pitch. Santiago two hops to Graff, two out. Higginson draws a walk, picked off trying to steal second base. Inning over.
-
One pitch, one out. So far, so good.

Chemical suits do not nec. say that there is a chem weapons program. The Iraqi government said that the US would use Chem weapons on them as well. This may have been nothing more than a Psy Ops tactic on its own people. Since our guys had the same suits, does this mean we were preparing to use Mustard Gas? The radiation "hostpots" that you point to, were actually Nuclear waste sites that the IAEA was monitoring. However, the US military upon taking control of the area around these places did not properly secure them. They have been looted. The degree of damage or theft is not known. They have found two weapons labs that could be used for Chem/Bio weaponry. However, there is nothing to say that they actually have been. We invaded on the premise that we knew where the weapons were, and we would disarm them. So far, our searches have turned up basically nothing. Most poli sci experts agree that there probably is a degree of Bio/Chem weapons in Iraq. However, there seemed to be universal agreement that any programs had been poorly maintained over the past 12 years because of the vise grip that we surrounded Iraq with. Conventional wisdom is that the weapons stockpile is quite small, degraded and extremely difficult to be weaponized effectively. I think what happened within Iraq was an awful, terrible thing, and the region is better off for being without him. However, this was never the reason why we fought this war. It was because of the NBC threat that Iraq supposedly posed. We never fought Germany for what they did to the Jews, we didn't fight in Rwanda to save the millions slaughtered in their Holocaust. We've dropped our Human Rights concerns to the actions happening in the PRC. We support the monarchy in Saudi Arabia, a state arguably more tyrannical than Iraq ever was. The truth is, as callous as it sounds, this government couldn't give two s***s about the people of these nations. Case in point? Afghanistan. We've developed a record in the last three years of starting things well, making some progress and dropping the ball for another "project." Maybe when we finish one and finish one well, I'll be happy.
