Apparently, the Sox broke through their maximum attendance goal and has to pay rent this year for the first time in 3 years. Payment: at least 1.5 million dollars. So what will that mean for next year?

Perot might run in 2004. He hates the bush family. 2004 could be a very weird election. Clark is the guy though, mark my words.
-
Wesley Clark is my man, been hoping for him to run for several months, and now that he's in... I'm ecstatic. He has a good ground on foreign policy and is clearly a pragmatist when it comes to dealing with problems, something we havent had in the last three years.... If wed played nice chances are, Some form of the roadmap would still be on the table, The North Korean crisis would never have hhappened or been quickly handled, Wed have international support in Iraq Wed be fighting a war on terror that works... but thats just my two cents.

Bush in a landslide in '04 4 MORE YEARS!!! 4 MORE YEARS!!! 4 MORE YEARS!!! You obviously arent still serving in Iraq. Or youd know tat the Bush White House proposed cutting combat pay for soldiers. But youre right, they DO support the military. After all who wouldnt want consecutive tours of duty doing what youre not trained to do in a dangerous situation to make not enough money to qualify for the latest tax cut and have to stay on welfare because your combat pay wont pay for the rent AND food? O yeah, awesome president!

Notre Dame (0) vs Michigan (38)
Rex Kickass replied to Chisoxfn's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
ND only beat MSU last year because they threw that game. If you check the replay of that last second touchdown, youll see one spartan tackling another. hell, im no longer an MSU fan because Jeff Crack Smoker is still on it (after he allegedly fixed games) but dont count them out. -
Three point plan for the record labels to actually sell CDs. 1. Lower prices. 2. Lower prices. 3. Lower prices. And as a sidebar, developing talent once in a while doesnt hurt.

When did Michigan state get a good defense? 2 games, total rushing yardage allowed -8. What the hell?
-
It would be much cooler on a burnt rainbow jersey.

St Anger is a great song, the rest of the album... not so good.

I think more scarily, the Tigers also win and gain ground... don't forget to look over our shoulders - They are only 36 games back!

If it were only 3-5 MPG it would be splitting hairs. But my sick little, in need of repair car still gets 25 MPG... my dads minivan (which also has the same towing capacity as most SUVs) gets about 25 when its running well. some of the new SUVs being designed and sent out get as little as TEN miles per gallon. Theres a big difference between a 10/18 and a 22/28. Besides, many SUVs are a waste of money and DONT have carrying capacity or towing capacity any more than a minivan of comparable size would have. Would you tow a boat with a Kia Sedona?
-
Me too.... oh wait, you mean the vehicle.
-
Most SUVs are f***ing stupid wastes of gas that couldnt actually offroad if you ever needed to. Christ, if youre gonna blow all that money on an overpriced hunk of metal, you might as well flush it down the toilet.

That sucks. I was just thinking about him the other day and how if I ever got a morning show Id want him to do my theme song. In college, I played a Wesley Willis twinspin every week on my show. Rock over London, Rock on Chicago, Walgreens, the pharmacy America trustses

I would advise people to stay away from Atkins style diets (low/no carb) unless its something they inted to maintain for the rest of their lives. I went on one of those for six weeks and lost 35 pounds (262-227). After I stopped the diet, and tried to eat sensibly, my weight shot back up because my metabolism had stopped getting used to carbs in my diet. Three months later, I weighed over 270 pounds. Whats worked best for me is eating less, and better food... and more exercise. It doesn't come super fast, but its better for you. Since May 1, I have dropped 23 pounds by just being careful about the things that i eat and the stress in my life.

Voting for Coleman would send a message to the California State House of... "Watchu talkin about Sacramento???"

Actually Im a grad school drop out, was gettin my masters in Poli Sci. The theory of elimination is similar to that of an International Criminal Court. It would only work if every state had the same systems, regimes and intentions. Ideally, its a fit. Realistically, it would be a nightmare. Like I said, I don't know how much I believe the proliferation theory by Mearshimer, but I think (despite recent flare ups that have turned out to nothing) that it has indeed decreased the likelihood of an actual war between certain states. The fact that North Korea may be able to strike LA now makes us handle that situation with considerably less rush to war... of course having an actual policy might help in that situation. The problem then becomes making sure nuclear states stay stable. It suddenly would become in the best interest of the US to make sure that North Korea and Iran do not fall into complete chaos if regime change would occur... in otherwords, the US could find itself in the position of defending these Axis of Evil states. Which is quite unnerving indeed.

There is something to be said about the proliferation of nuclear weaponry causing increased stability in the world. In fact, John Mearsheimer, a respected professor of Political Science at the University of Chicago (who is both conservative, and anti-Iraq war), has pioneered the idea. Perhaps it is something that the US government is following privately. I don't really buy into it. The problem here isn't that Iraq or North Korea get a bomb. Neither are likely to use them, the problem is more along the lines of influence, and stability. One: The more states that are nuclear, the less power the US has to influence the politics of other states. It would have to compete with an Iran (an ascending regional power). This could hurt the US in its foreign policy and its economy. Two: Stability is a reason for concern. Iran and North Korea arent states with the tightest hold on power. When change comes, it will not likely be orderly. This is a problem because these weapons could much more easily be transferred to non-state actors (ie terrorist operations) when a state's government is in flux. Non state actors have little to lose, so using a bomb wouldnt be a tough option for them. North Korea or Iran knows that a Nuclear discharge in Israel or South Korea would be the end to them as well. For the states, it creates a mutually assured destruction regime... one which has proven itself quite stable in every circumstance, even if it seems scary at the time (US/USSR during the 1980s arms race and India/Pakistan over the last five years)
-
IMHO, Israel needs to put its big boy pants on in that situation and deal with it on its own... and believe me, we wouldnt be drawn into that. However, Iran would not be likely to use its nukes I dont think. What people seem to forget is that Israels undeclared WMD program (probably 10 times larger than Iraqs ever was) is seen as a threat to those countries that swear Israel as an enemy. Israel has invaded other countries for the name of security... why wouldnt they use a bomb? is probably the way of thinking. Iran is a state where the leaders realize how tenuous their hold on power is. Accelerating a nuclear program may be the surest way to protect themselves from a feared American attack. Another unintended consequence of a failed Bush foreign policy.

Seeing Smoker get back in pisses me off. he isnt that good anyway and bringing him back after what hes done (and the word on campus at the time was that it was more than coke) is a shame to the program. f*** John Smith. Why cant Tom Izzo coach both?
-
So the question is: Will MSU go 6-6? Will they be Silicon Valley bound again? Will the cokehead QB make his grand return? Who knows? John L Smith knows.
