Apu, I think you have a false view of victory in this sense. Al Qaeda, being an NGO can never be concretely "eliminated" but its effectiveness can be hampered. The United States has made it more difficult for Al Qaeda to operate effectively on a large scale. Just how effective it is remains to be seen. But the effort is made and that is worth something.

To be fair, they have gotten a number of Al-Qaida operatives. So that wouldn't be a 0. However, after several weeks - all we've found is two trailers that may have been used for biochem weapons research. If that's all we find, was it worth invading an entire state to uncover two not in use trailers? What scares me more is that the US military has not taken seriously security of nuclear facilities in Iraq which have been looted and radioactive material taken... at the same time saying that IAEA doesn't need to have a presence at the facilities at the current time. Of course, that will change when we take on Iran next. They've admitted to having WMD. Arianna Huffington compared the White House to the Matrix today in Salon. Calls em delusional. Pretty funny actually, and scary if its at all accurate.

I always try to upgrade to better seats if it isn't crowded. But I'd never block someone else's view or take someone else's seat. Hell, most of the time its just cause I can't sit in one place for too long.

Konerko went 2-4 yesterday. A couple more games like that, and he might have turned it around. He got robbed too at one point. Web Gem last night I think. If MB doesn't pitch well tonight, maybe we should skip a start for him. ESPN Radio (The Network, not the Chicago station) was saying that he just looked fatigued out there... maybe he needs a week to rest and recharge? I know, I'm grasping at straws - but if he can right the ship, we'll be ok... With all the just disappointment we've dealt with on this team already this year, it's hard to believe we have the potential of being just 3 1/2 out after a win tonight. Maybe things aren't quite so bad after all.

I say stop coddling the damn starters. I'd rather have a pitcher like Colon who isn't afraid to finish a game. This was his 3rd CG so far. We need to let pitchers go 125-150 pitches if they're ahead. Hell didn't Nolan Ryan throw 250 pitches in one game? Roger

I would like to point out that the N Korea situation is one that the Clinton administration did handle correctly. They managed to draft an agreed framework that ended North Korea's nuclear program for the remainder of his term despite a lack of funding for the program from the US government. The change in tone from the Bush administration triggered a new round of nuclear blackmail. Its quite worrying really.

If management cared about selling tickets, theyd open up a block of 2 or 3 thousand seats at 10 bucks each. At 18 bucks a pop and a 220 mile one way trip, I'm not goin to the Cell anytime soon.

You know, I was beginning to agree with the"Give JM the s***can" group for awhile, but that's starting to pass. I don't think that JM or KW are really the problems with the organization... I think the problems lie with the ownership. Period. There has not been a culture of winning installed within the franchise. As much as they might say otherwise, the White Sox don't care about winning and they don't care about the fans. The fact that our teams and managers are motivated enough to do as well as .500 is a pleasant surprise in my book. KW hasn't made all the right moves, but he has made quite a few solid ones. JM may not show fire all the time, but he does at the right times... (and by the way how many other managers have been ejected more than once this season so far?) The players have been underperforming, but if the last handful of games are any indication they may be starting to dig themselves out of the hole. We haven't scored a lot of runs, but we are starting to hit better (.311 in the last two games), and our pitching is showing some serious potential - with a good effort from Loaiza and Wright this week. We can do some serious damage and we're still less than 5 games out. Hey, maybe the kids can play.

With a Sox win tonight, I feel us closing in. We just need three of the next four.

Not sure how, but he did it. I'm really concerned about the Sox offense, god they better explode with 10 runs tomorrow. CWSOX45 We hit about .285 tonight. not great, but a lot better than the last few games. It's not about getting hits though, it's about getting hits that matter.
