  1. Sorry but that sweep of us knocked all of the pity out of me for that miserable ballclub.
  2. I was not an advacate of the Everett trade and I'm still not but one thing it does do is give us the strongest bench in the AL. That could pay huge dividends in October.
  3. Yea but day in day out ARow is the better CFer.
  4. You still need a pen even with 3 aces, otherwise we would've just beat the 2 time defending World Series Champs.
  5. Everett's spot would've been up in the 9th if they tied it thus the reason for keeping him in the game but moving him to left.
  6. Well I care if they put Wright out there, esp. vs Anaheim. Besides, Cotts is the only real alternative inhouse so it's better to find out now if he can handle it while we still have time to make a trade.
  7. He fairly evenly split vs righties and lefties: http://bigleaguers.yahoo.com/mlbpa/players...r&type=Pitching
  8. What about Koch for the last month makes you think he can close? You mean: What about Koch for the last 4 months makes you think he can close?
  9. My guess is we'll see him out of the pen this weekend so we won't have long to wait to find out.
  10. ummm can you read? HE explained there is a huge difference in walking players once u get to the majors. umm, Bmr can you read? Cotts walk rate has fallen considerably. He is not the same pitcher he was in the first half of the season. Well then nevermind, bring up the next Sandy Koufax immediately!!! Sounds good to me, as long as it's not Wright pitching I'll be happy.
  11. I've being liking what he's doing in the 2 spot, don't see a need to change it.

Damm, you must be dissappointed then. I'd be happy now if he could 1.5 wins.
  13. Honestly I don't give a s*** about Koch anymore, he's had plenty of time now to add a cutter or splitter or whatever it'd take to get guys from sitting on his Illinois fastball but instead he's decided to be selfish and wallow in self pity waiting for a fastball that'll never come, so f***'m. It's too bad for the club that they signed him to that contract which made him untradable or unreleaseable but at least at the end of the month he'll get his do when they put him on the DL or just flat out leave him off the playoff roster. Anyhow, I hope the slew of articles on him today is the last I'll have to read about him in a long long while.
  14. Thanks for the heads up on that: 2 starts 0-2 6 IP 17 H 14ER 21.0 ERA Yea anyone but Wright!!!!!
  15. Barely, 57-56 and that could be .500 in a half hour from now. Toronto is currently at .500. Yes, in my mind I also count the Giants.
  16. Minny, Cubs, Dodgers, KC, and we've split so far with Boston.
  17. I think our #5 only has like 4 or 5 more starts scheduled for the rest of the year. In reality, the lack of a #5 isn't going to make or break us. The biggest effect of not having a good #5 is that it can wear out your bullpen if he gets rocked early. Thankfully, we didn't have to use any of our main guys (except for Wunsch), and with Buehrle on the hill today, we shouldn't need much 'pen help anyway. Maybe the Sox can try Wright in the pen, send Ginter back down, and call up a guy from AAA to fill the #5 spot. See how it goes for 2-3 weeks, then decide what we want to do before the August 31 "playoff roster" deadline. We had this debate before and it was 8 starts including last night, and not only can't we afford 7 more losses but(like you said) it overtaxes the BP and(like last night) it ends win streaks or continues losing streaks. Don't underestimate that, and the effect it has on the team.
  18. Well, If anything good came out of last night it's that KW now knows he needs to keep pursuing a 5th starter, that Wright is not the answer. My guess is most guys will have cleared waivers(who are going to that is) by Monday or Tuesday so expect something, if it's going to happen, by the end of the week. Also, Ginter once again has affirmed my dislike in him. That's why I wanted Levine.
  19. When did Malone get sent down to Kanny? I must've missed it.
  20. Thanx Rex. Shiite!!!!
  21. Agreed....... Diaz, I believe is also headed to the DL. Really? Where's that coming from? What's wrong?
  22. I doubt we'll sell out Monday, probable close to 42k but a sweep of Seattle and all bets are off. Tuesday is a little more dependent on weather and record since half price is only for walkups but it wouldn't surprise me if they had 35k+. With Wednesday a day game you're not going to get much walkup and this surge may be too late to have much effect on sales but you never know and 25k should be expected. Friday is sold at 30k and Saturday 35k+, they can only go up and will with people like myself who can only make weekend games. Sunday, who knows but with the hot streak continuing and good weather, and sky's the limit(Sunday might also be a kids day which would be a huge boost too). All in all, a 200k homestand is within reach and with a sweep in Seattle and continued hot play at home who knows.
  23. He'd have to go on the 40 man and there's no need to add him this early.
  24. Interestingly we may have a role as spoiler in this with our late Sept series vs the Yankees at the Cell. How sweet would it be to clinch at home vs the Yank AND knock them out of the playoffs at the same time? Too Sweet!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  25. Rauch, Diaz, Cotts, Yofu, Munoz, 2 or 3 out of this group. The idea is to hopefully catch lightning in a bottle ala FRod for Anaheim last yr. Hummel, Borchard, Miles, left handed power bat and guys to spell your old vets(Robbie and Jose).
