  1. I have too much PTSD. The Sox signed him so he's about to have the worst season of his career.
  2. Ding ding ding we have a winner. What do we have for him Johnny? At least Gallo was a 1 year commitment so if he sucks they can just walk away.
  3. Watch Benintendi will turn into 2004 Podsednik without the SB.
  4. I'm shocked they did this. I'm happy to be wrong about them spending money, but it's still a wimpy move.
  5. 10D is so meh. This is a chicken little move. Taking the floor over the ceiling, while the Twins took the ceiling over the floor.
  6. Well whatever they're doing isn't working either. You got a better option than rebuilding again? I don't. Spending money and going into the tax isn't going to happen, as much as we want it to.
  7. Well then, if true now they have Moncada, Kopech and Benintendi.
  8. This is true, and I believe they operate that way to shield themselves from accountability.
  9. It's fairly obvious this ownership group is not interested in winning a WS. I will admit, rebuilding isn't that simple for a large market team anymore wirh the new CBA as you can only guarantee as high as pick 7, and are not allowed to pick top 6 in consecutive seasons. Spending like the Mets/Padres/Phillies has never been as necessary for the Sox as it is now. Player development is as important as ever.
  10. I'd rather tear it down and rebuild into a true juggernaut than be a flawed team trying to win. Do(build a team like the Astros) or do not(rebuild into a team like the Astros) There is no try(whatever the Sox are doing now) The Astros also aren't spending wildly like the Padres and Phillies. My view on sports is pretty binary. If you're not a true contender or a team on the rise you should be rebuilding.
  11. Lol. Balta just showed that is untrue.
  12. Great post. Too many think you can just sneak in and win a title.
  13. That's not my account, but I agree with that account.
  14. Based on what they did and the roster, I don't think they expected to be competitive. Being competitive in 2012 was more shocking than being terrible in 2013.
  15. I have been wanting a complete teardown since mid-season. I don't want Hahn in charge of said teardown. It has also been my take since midseason 2021. The roster is too flawed and they're nowhere close to Houston and NYY. Houston has represented the AL 4 times in the WS since 2017.
  16. Idk, but for those that were.....here you go.
  17. You truly think that GMs should only get a year or two before being on the hot seat? That is how terrible organizations are run. It was apparent by the end of 2015 that Hahn sucked. That is when he should have been fired. Learning on the job is allowed. Wanting a GM fired after his second year on the job is unreasonable, IMO.
  18. I am of the opinion that GMs need 4-5 years to truly put their stamp on a roster. The 2013 season is more on Kenny than Rick. Hahn inherited a decent but aging roster. The wheels completely fell off in 2013. Abreu wasn't here yet and Sale/Quintana were the only building blocks for the future.
  19. Hahn should have been fired after 2015, 2016, and 2022 at least so far. That's three separate times. I know Balta will say he should have been fired 5+ times but we disagree on that.
