  1. Question: Even so, do you think that there could be something wrong that the Sox training staff is doing? Could people get fired or is the severity of the injuries the Sox are suffering just bad luck? Wondering if some people might get fired this winter.
  2. Looks like there's definitely interest from Lynn. I wonder if the feeling is mutual?
  3. This is where Tony's HOF baseball person moniker is a compliment and not an insult. It's reminiscent of those Cardinals teams that would have players go down and unknown retreads come up and they'd only have a minor dropoff.
  4. Poor choice of language. When they acquired him with the extra year on his deal it was insurance for Frank's injury.
  5. Ok, it's been a while. Anyway, they traded for Everett, who was signed for another season, because Frank had a bad injury and it was unknown if he'd be able to play regularly. He only played for like 3-5 weeks in 2005 and then he got injured again.
  6. I missed that because of the typo, sorry. I read it as that. Misunderstanding. If you said they have the best SP and closer combination in the AL I'd completely agree.
  7. Frank wasn't even expected to play much that year. Why do you think they signed Everett?
  8. Even without Grandal they'll probably at the very least be in it until the last week of the season, if not still win the division. They're absolutely not a title contender though.
  9. Really it was a case of me trying to be the smartest guy in the room. Then I posted it and realized the opposite lol. I'm not afraid to poke fun at my horrible takes. Go ahead and laugh at it, I deserve the flak.
  10. My whole opinion this year is that the Sox are good enough to make the playoffs, but probably not good enough to make noise once they get there. It made me question whether or not they should let Lynn and Rodon walk for free. Then Cleveland lost the top 3 pitchers in their rotation. Plesac is returning after the ASB I heard. This Sox team vs. a healthy Cleveland team would be a dogfight. Cleveland is also far from healthy. If even Eloy and Robert were healthy, all else being equal....fuck yeah push all of the chips in. I thought you guys understood what I was saying a month ago when Madrigal got injured, I guess not. The 05 team only got help from depth pieces at the TDL, they were that well constructed in February. They had normally bad bullpen guys go lights out for a year. They were healthy outside of the closer position and had a flamethrowing rookie ready to step in and shove. This team doesn't have that. The optimist in me says the Sox are going to pwn in 2022.
  11. Usually when teams are as injured as the Sox are they don't have a 6 game lead in their division. The ALC is pathetic.
  12. You guys fail to understand that the only reason I even wanted to sell is because of the key injuries. Then Cleveland got injured just as much as the Sox are. They're going to win 85-89 games and make the playoffs.
  13. Only because they're injured as fuck. Now that I'm convinced the ALC title is pretty much a given I just don't want them to trade Kopech/Vaughn/Crochet/Madrigal. Sheets and Burger are blocked so I don't mind them getting moved.
  14. No I know what one looks like and that's why I'm kinda bummed. I wish the Sox had some serious competition in the ALC so we had a better gauge where they truly are. The ALC is pretty pathetic. Worst division in baseball.
  15. It absolutely is. If the Sox win more than 88 games I think TLR wins MOTY.
  16. I'm still watching because they're still winning but it feels like a 6 month death march to getting swept out of the ALDS. Honestly, I have to give TLR some credit because this is some 2000s Cardinals level next man up shit going on here.
  17. I think Jerry will spend mildly like he always does. He prefers to spread it around over 3-5 guys rather than putting his eggs in one basket. Maybe....he might dole out a 9 figure contract this winter.
  18. I mean, I don't even think that. Even at my lowest point I was advocating for punting this season and go get 'em in '22. But the ALC is so bad that they're going to back into the playoffs anyway. I'm mildly concerned that the entire team isn't going to put it together at the same time for a full season.
  19. Probably 4-6 weeks is best case scenario, and that's because of the position that he plays.
  20. Don't forget that now it's been revealed that Moncada has been playing through a couple of potentially power sapping injuries. Also Abreu is having a bad year.
  21. That's fair, I'll try. It just sucks. This year they could have been so damn good if their key players weren't constantly getting injured. I think they could have survived Engel/Eaton/Madrigal. Robert/Jimenez/Grandal really hurt.
