I have been pretty apathetic since Robert got hurt. Nothing they've done has changed that for me. I was more into 2019 and 2020 than I am this season. I'm usually more into baseball than any other sport I follow. Not this year.

Can't wait until Jupiter and Saturn are out in the late evening. I just bought astrophotography equipment. Will share my photos with the group when I get it down a bit more. On a lighter note. I'm expecting Grandal to miss at least 4-6 weeks with his injury. If it's a season ender, I'm probably just going to casually follow until the playoffs, and then catch the playoff games before transitioning into football and hockey season. Go Sox.

Yep. Mercedes is a DH only. Sheets has supplanted him and is keeping the seat warm for Eloy. Yermin might get traded to a team that can give him regular ABs as a DH.

It seems Moncada has been playing with a nagging injury for a while. Hopefully the power comes back in the 2nd half.

They're not going to be at full strength until 2022 though. I agree with you there. I think Robert and Jimenez are probably going to be somewhere between 70-80% this year. Not sure Grandal will be able to do anything but DH, and that's if he comes back at all.

I agree with you that they'll make the playoffs regardless, but I disagree that Grandal is the difference between winning a title or not. They're not competitive with the Astros/A's/Rays/Red Sox (when Sale returns)

If this is a 4+ week injury the Sox are pretty fucked. Also, Moncada keeps talking about playing through a shoulder issue. Might explain the power outage this year.

It is my opinion, sir. I do not believe any realistic additions will do them any good once they get to the ALDS. They will get smoked anyway. Cease and Keuchel might not be any good, and Giolito needs an offseason to get used to not using pine tar.

I believe they can make the playoffs even if they do nothing. I do not believe they will advance, and I will be surprised if they win more than one game. There's pretty much nothing that can be done to get them competitive in the AL playoffs until the offseason.

Is it worth trading the future for this cursed season? I don't think so.

The walking wounded are so great that at this point it's probably best to stand pat and hope they can win the division with what they have. Get Jimenez and Robert healthy and hope for the best.

They'd have to trade Vaughn, Madrigal or Crochet to get a deal done imo. Nobody else has enough value and this season isn't worth trading one of those guys.

I think that between the Sox and Cleveland, whichever team gets healthy first, wins the division. The other stays home. Plesac is returning after the ASB and if Bieber comes back and is good before Robert gets back that's it. The ALC has turned into a war of attrition.

This looks like a team that's about to collapse after the ASB. It feels like they're hanging by a thread despite the 6 game lead.
