  1. That was an 88 mph fastball. Where's the 96 he was pumping his last time vs the Brewers?
  2. He added a curveball last year before he got hurt.
  3. Cain opted out. They are left with no CF.
  4. He had a .371 OBP in the minors. He's going to have a high OBP soley from his hit tool. He walks much more than Anderson and Anderson put up a .356 OBP last year.
  5. I was shocked that Robert didn't score on Moncada's 2B.
  6. I think you put Madrigal in front of them so you have someone on base.
  7. Murray was a career .287 hitter. Robbie Alomar was also a .300 hitter, I missed him somehow. I guess you can consider .293 and .294 close. That's Berkman and Raines respectively. They're just below close for me.
  8. I don't think he'll be ready that fast. Needs a year in the minors imo.
  9. Looking for a bounceback from Rodon. He didn't look half bad after the 1st inning vs. Cleveland.
  10. Yeah.....he's been popping up meatballs and it's frustrating. There's a reason why Pete Rose and Chipper Jones are the only switch hitters I can think of that batted over .300 for their career, and only barely for both. Rose and Chipper were .303 and Mantle was .298 and I think they're the only ones anywhere close to .300. Moncada will be fine, and I'm not blaming him for starting slow in the XBH dept. What's encouraging is that he's still getting singles and walking even while fighting his swing a bit.
  11. Seems like Kopech made the right call for his long-term health, even independent of his personal issues. There have been a bunch of pitchers going down so far this year.
  12. Yeah I don't think Ricky has ever heard of that before. It's a foreign concept.
  13. In that case you lead off Madrigal. Honestly you can make an argument for going: Madrigal Robert Moncada Eloy top 4. This is a wonderful problem to have. BTW I looked into the Moncada/EV thing and the issue is that his statcast numbers are being dragged down by an insane 21.7 popup percentage combined with SSS.
  14. I remember when I actually thought he had decent stuff. Now I know that velocity isn't everything and spin rate matters.
  15. Yeah and the Marlins outbreak is linked to a group of players attending a nightclub in Atlanta. Like seriously, WTF? If I were other players I'd be incredibly pissed.
  16. Eloy is gonna kill Robert one day. He's an oaf out there.
  17. Thirded. When I think of Madrigal, Polanco is the first guy that comes to mind......as his ceiling. https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/p/polanpl01.shtml
  18. That's funny 4 of those guys played the majority of their careers in Chicago. (Floyd was taken by the Phillies though) Fernandez/Floyd for the Sox Wood/Schwarber for the Cubs.
  19. You guys don't get it. Madrigal is unconventional in modern baseball. I want him to succeed, I really do. They're going to adjust to him and bring the RF in really shallow. Gonna be interesting to see what happens then.
  20. I'm so glad it's not the Sox fucking up like that anymore lmao.
  21. I never said he couldn't play, I said there were concerns about his profile. Completely different.
  22. What the hell is with Moncada popping out all of these hangers?
