  1. More evidence that Renteria is a dipshit. I wanted to call Ricky "Edgar" for a moment......lol.
  2. I'm sorry, if WAR says that Adam Engel has a positive number attached to his name, you can't take it seriously in that context.
  3. That would be wonderful, but it's a pipedream.
  4. Rutherford doesn't have the power Mazara does. If they trade Walker, that gives Basabe/Adolfo/Rutherford/Gonzalez another year or two to make a name for themselves. Out of all of the players the Sox could trade, either Rutherford or Gonzalez I'd miss the least.
  5. That's exactly what Sampson described. Rabbit/Carrot syndrome. This is 100% a rabbit/carrot move.
  6. Yeah, me too. As long as it doesn't cost one of Dunning/Stiever/ Matt Thompson/Dalquist I'm fine. Those are the guys I'm freaked out about them trading in a deal like this.
  7. I don't mind it. I like Mazara. Still young and has untapped potential. Hopefully it doesn't cost too much. If they can get away with an OF swap for Rutherford/Gonzalez I'm fine with it. I know that he only has 2 years of control left, but it's not like there are better options.
  8. Who is available via trade worth the acquisition cost? Blake Snell is the only guy, and idk if he's actually available.
  9. When following this team, it's incredibly difficult to not be an insufferable eeyore. I try not to be that way, but it keeps ending like that. The organization makes it so easy.
  10. I doubt Gordon Wittenmeyer's actual Twitter handle is "G dub Cub" That account also lacks a blue check mark. It's fake.
  11. That is a fake account. Likely a Cub fan troll.
  12. Gausman is probably a better option than Porcello. Forgot about him.
  13. Of the guys that fit this category? Wood, Walker and Porcello.
  14. That's the issue. They can get pitchers just as good as Keuchel in the bargain bin. Keuchel is a signing a dumb organization makes.
  15. Yes, I did some quick extrapolation math. over 190 IP, Keuchel would have been worth 1.3 fWAR, which is still far less than Lopez's 2.1.
  16. It is, but Keuchel was worth 0.8 fWAR in 112 2/3 IP. If you extrapolate that to 190 IP, it comes out to 1.3 fWAR. Still worse than Lopez's 2.1.
  17. Not really. Lopez was a better pitcher by fWAR in 2019. Think about that for a minute.
  18. Those teams do it better than the Sox do. Learn by example. Who are the Sox kidding by not operating in the same fashion? Again, it gives some credence to the Sampson comments.
  19. Players come and go, championship banners fly forever.
