  1. Basically every team not rebuilding and looking for pitching that has money to spend. I believe Wheeler has become a borderline top of the market arm.
  2. Everyone is in on him. He's the hottest ticket in FA. Of course he's going to get a lot of money. There are more teams in on Wheeler than on Cole/Strasburg.
  3. Who cares? The Sox window is the next four seasons. Shit hits the fan in the 23-24 offseason. Is it going to hurt? Yeah. But I think if you went back to summer of 2008 and asked Blackhawks fans if they'd trade 7-8 years of mediocrity for 3 championships, they'd take it.
  4. Wheeler has a more robust market. I think he stays on the East Coast, with either the Yankees or Phillies. I don't think the Sox are going to go to the level to get the job done. If Wheeler's market is really in the 4/$80 or 5$100 range, I think he would have signed already. I'm starting to think that it's going to take at least 6/130 to get the job done.
  5. I'm with you. I think Wheeler is going to end up in Corbin territory.
  6. The Phillies scare the shit out of me as a Sox fan. They've proven they'll pay to play.
  7. My opinion is that Strasburg is every bit as risky as Wheeler. Stras is a better pitcher. Every pitcher could turn into a hot mess. You just don't know. That shouldn't stop your organization from trying, even if you get burned a few times.
  8. Manfred should force Wilpon to sell. That is all.
  9. Really? They have no reason to cry poor and b**** about Bonilla then. I was under the impression that they were scammed out of ~1/3 of their fortune.
  10. The Wilpons lost ~30% of their fortune to the Bernie Madoff scam. Madoff is directly responsible for Bobby Bonilla day.
  11. If it's going to take that, I'm going to want to see him do it again, maybe even twice more. Then you're going to pay more, but you have the certainty that it wasn't just one awesome year.
  12. He has no reason to do it. He's already made his millions. It would shock me. He's going to be a FA at 28. Think of what Rendon gets this winter. You think he's going to pass up that kind of payday? If he was up for it, sure but I think it's a nonstarter.
  13. wait, he is? I could have sworn he was a LH hitter. Never mind then. Looked it up. Not even a question anymore.
  14. If the choice is Castellanos or Mancini, who are you taking? Advantages: Castellanos-Only costs money Mancini-LH middle of the order bat Disadvantages: Castellanos: Boras, RH bat in a lineup with only 2 LH batters(and they both are switch hitters) Mancini: Costs assets
  15. How much? I'm in as long as it's reasonably inexpensive. I'm already in 3 leagues. Anything above $30 and I cant do it I wish I had the money to though.
  16. @hi8is this should be your avatar: The poopsmith's job is obvious.
  17. Duncan Keith had a groin injury in today's game. Safe to say the Hawks are toast, as the best case scenario probably has him back shortly after Xmas.
  18. We have to discuss which is the funnier Sox broadcasting moment: A) DJ: Whatever you do, don't strap it on B) Hawk: Sacks packed with Seamen Discuss.
  19. More of this Anthony Miller, please. They should just put Gabriel on IR and play Wims/Ridley the remainder of the season.
