Can you give me a logical explanation for why Pace should keep his job? Not to mention that Mack has been a complete non-factor for the last 6 weeks and the trade looks like a disaster at this point. The bottom line is that there's really no use discussing anything about the Bears until Pace and Nagy are gone. This is a huge clusterfuck. Nagy is an awful playcaller and Pace is an awful GM.

That's insanity imo. They should have been fired weeks ago. To give them another season is to punt 2020 before it's even started. Pace doesn't have the cojones to ditch Mitch. Nagy hates Trubisky. It just leads to another season of total dysfunction. If you think this year's bad, wait until 2020 with those guys back. Get your popcorn ready.

I think that Polanco would be virtually free, like Nova last year. Nimmo doesn't have that big of a track record either but I'd be willing to take that risk on him. Haniger bats right unlike Nimmo/Polanco and Nimmo/Polanco had their success at a younger age. Having one good season at age 27 just seems fishy to me.

Because you're trading assets to get Haniger and Tsutsugo is free. Make sense now?

I don't trust Haniger. Not enough of a track record. I don't think he'd be cheap and I wouldn't waste assets on him. I'd much rather try Tsutsugo, Polanco or Nimmo. The Sox could probably get Polanco for the same price as they got Nova last winter. I'd do that everyday.

If the Sox fill C and DH with outside help, where is Collins going to get his ABs? He's not stealing them from Abreu. Even though I'm not a fan of Collins, he brings what this team lacks: A LH power hitter and OBP. They used a 1st rounder on Collins. Might as well see what you have. He, Abreu and Jimenez can rotate through the DH spot. If they need to find an upgrade they can do so mid-season.

When will they fire Pace and Nagy. When? They don't deserve another season. While this isn't quite Trestman bad it's getting closer by the week. Trestman's issue was a defense that couldn't stop anyone. Nagy's issue is an offense that can't score.

With Murphy back and Boqvist up, the Hawks would have too many contracts with bonus structures. The CBA doesn't allow for you to exceed more than 7.5% of the cap in total bonuses. If you exceed the bonus cushion, you exceed the Cap. Between Strome, Kubalik, Dach, Nylander and DeBrincat they had enough potential bonuses that they couldn't keep Boqvist up legally. Math: 6.71M in potential bonuses without Boqvist-1.27M in capspace=5.44M in overages 7.5% of cap=6.11M 5.44M+850k=6.29M which is over the cushion. They literally can't have Boqvist up unless someone is on LTIR this season. It would be illegal otherwise.
