  1. This is truth. Lots of seeing eye grounders. Just bad luck.
  2. I think Eloy is about to go on a tear to finish the season. I hope Moncada's injury adjustment doesn't eat up the majority of the remainder of his season. I know he needs quite a bit of ABs to get back into the groove. I'm bummed he's probably not hitting 30 HR anymore.
  3. I'm actually shocked that a Sox player was baseball smart for a change. You don't expect that out of this team.
  4. What a play by Eloy. Heady. That's how you run the bases.
  5. I'm fairly confident that at least one ace will emerge from the Giolito/Kopech/Cease trio. There is a decent chance they get two. I'm not as concerned about a TOR starter as most here. Wheeler or Bumgarner are fine with me. The only thing they need is a couple 2-4 WAR pitchers. Honest to god I'd give Lopez one more year and if that doesn't work I'd bring back Quintana.
  6. I agree with that for the most part. Winning every season is unrealistic. It makes championships more special when they happen.
  7. We'll have to agree to disagree on that. I agree with asking the question: Does this get my team closer to winning a championship? I agree with his thoughts on a team being in purgatory and when you get there the only answer is a bare bones rebuild.
  8. I agree wholeheartedly with that sentiment. It's a risk I'd be willing to take though.
  9. I miss B&B. They were awesome. Bernstein can be a prick at times but listening to his show has made me a better, more rational fan. They should ask Boers if he can come in for a day whenever McKnight has a planned vacation providing he's up for it health wise. The Bob from Niles bit was hilarious, as was the McGowan stuff.
  10. Dude I think the Trubisky criticism is over the top as well but I can't blame anyone for it. They have to develop a HOF QB to change the national narrative. Trubisky is probably the most promising QB they've had in my lifetime. He won me over last year. He did everything he had to do to win that playoff game, it isn't his fault that Parkey missed the kick. I think the narrative is completely different had they won that game. He was money in the 2nd half.
  11. You don't think losing half of their roster in the gambling scandal had a lot to do with that? It shouldn't take 40 years to recover but 15 years probably was reasonable in a 16 team MLB, where the regular season meant everything.
  12. MadBum turning up the jets down the stretch. Dude is just a winner and elevates his game when the team needs him most. I hope he's willing to leave the west coast. I'd love to have a guy like him here and he wouldn't break the bank as much as Cole or Strasburg. That being said, he's spent his entire career in an extreme pitchers park and who knows what he'd do in a bandbox like GRF. GRF is weird in that it gives up a ton of HR but otherwise suppresses XBH, leading to a neutral park factor.
  13. In Ex-Sox news, Quintana set a career high with 14 K in 6 innings, but that other team still lost because their bullpen blows chunks.
  14. Lol. I really like dat Bobby Zheng. Ees a goo kee. Ozzie, October 2005. Don't forget Ozzie called them the Jankees long before Papi. Ozzie knows English but when he speaks it it's incredibly broken.
  15. Ehh, you have a point....to a degree.
  16. Too late lol. But really, if they want to bring him back for insurance next year I have no problem if he keeps this up the rest of the season.
  17. Get his ass up here pronto. I'd much rather see him than Skole.
  18. Tim McCarver: "If you score more runs than the other team, you're probably going to win the game." One of my favorite bad announcer moments.
  19. Yolmer sucks too. They better non-tender him this fall.
  20. The bottom of this lineup is a huge rally killer. Whyy do I have to continue watching Adam Engel? I've seen enough. Cordell is a similar type of bad so I'd rather see more of him. As I type this.. RALLY ENGEL
  21. I'm watching. At least they have a chance now that Cole got scratched.
  22. I agree with this train of thought. Given that Aiken never did anything and has battled injuries, I think they made the correct choice there. Idk how they messed up on Appel/Bryant.
  23. I looked up "show minors" and he never was listed with the Sox, so idk what you're looking at.
