Reinsdorf assures Ron that Abreu will always be a White Sox
No, I'm implying that JR might not have paid Frank fair value if he wasn't a horrible 1B and actually had defensive value.

White Sox at Twinkees 8/21/19
Cruz has been whacked for PEDs twice, correct? Once in Biogenesis and another time with Texas IIRC. If they get him again, he gets a permaban.

I can't stand the guy. Someone test him for PEDs ASAP.

If they got Cole or Strasburg that could be realistic, however Giolito is outperforming Strasburg this year. Has a better ERA and trails him by 2 K in 12 fewer innings, in a better league.

Too long. 2 years max.

That actually might be the best thing for all parties. He'd take it, and the Sox only would be committed for one year.

I know. Moncada is one of those talents you just can't let walk though. If Frank Thomas played a GG 1B do you think he would have stuck around as long as he did? It seems like as the years go on JR is doing more and more of a Scrooge McDuck impression.

Nice AB from Eloy.

Lineup protection is a myth. Apparently if you can't quantify it, it doesn't exist.

I like the Duck Hunt music for Ks in Minny. Very fitting.

I like Abreu, but Moncada is the type of player that you say this about, not Abreu.

Machado do-over
That is how much is left on his contract. I waver back and forth about whether or not he can beat the 4/100. If he thinks it's iffy I do think team performance holds weight.
-
Machado do-over
Do you think it's a definite thing that he can get more than 4/100 with his injury history on the open market?

Gio dealing again.

Goins swung at that because of strike one. Has anybody else noticed that Sox pitchers rarely get that type of zone?

It's nice to have one of those drop in for a Sox hitter for a change.

Machado do-over
With the way the Nationals are playing right now, I'm not as sure that Strasburg opts out anymore.

Renteria goes on pregame anti-analytics rant
There's hope.....until you hear comments like this from management. Then, all hope is lost.

Renteria goes on pregame anti-analytics rant
This organization is in the dark ages and won't win a damn thing until they wake the fuck up. It has taken 20 years but it's getting hard to watch right now, and hearing shit like this coming from management. This might be the first time since 2007 that I largely ignore the Sox in September. They literally have no chance with this philosophy. They're treading the line of Dollar Bill Wirtz right now. I might have to start ignoring them. I'm considering following another team while keeping an eye on the Sox until new ownership happens. This is beyond unacceptable and infuriating. When ownership changes if they remain in Chicago I'll be back.

Abreu “as valuable as anything” to Sox: Merkin
Correct me if I'm wrong, but hasn't Abreu been abnormally unlucky based on batted ball data? I don't think Abreu's BB rate is that far off his career number. Though it seems he's swinging at more bullshit, I thought someone posted that his OZone swing % is actually lower than his career number.

8/20 Games
Omg if he's anywhere close to as good as his brother.......

Machado do-over
It wouldn't shock me if the Cubs got involved on Cole as well. They have Hamels, Lester, and Quintana coming off the books over the next 2 seasons.

Cruz is also a notorious PED user. He's been whacked twice.
